Hi , I just got steam and I was curious if I can run my own server . I installed the dedicated server , launched put half-life .
I can't select any map , only stalkyard ....
I put the connection to "Internet" , the UDP port to 27014 because it doesn't accept 27015 and the rcon password to "rar" .

Now , I copy the IP it gives me and type in half-life ( steam half-life now yay ! ) "connect 27014" and it gives me this :What can it be ? :/ ...

you'll need someone else to test it for you, i think. if you host your own dedicated server, you should join it using this IP: 127.0.0.1, or through the LAN server browser. that's how i've always had to do it, anyway. never seen that specific error, i don't think.

That doesn't work either ... . It doesn't connect ...

you see were trying to play sc together, the steam version and we cant find a way. on our own servers that is, so that we can play our maps

Ok now I have a new problem and I don't want to make a new thread because I spam too much anyway ...

This is my problem . Skals sent me hl2 and he said it contains counterstrike source as well . I didn't got that . But I presume it should contain hl2 deathmatch and it doesn't :|, only the singleplayer game (?).

otherwise you can get HL2DM via http://steampowered.com/ati_offer1a/ (you have an ATI graphics card right?)

LOL , but I have Nvidia installed now .... my ati radeon is in the box :))

Just look under "not installed" and install HL2DM from there...

Look in the screenshot , I don't have that category :/ ...

Wtf ? Steam stopped responding and I restarted it , now it says "Steam-Updating" and it says it can't connect but my internet works :/ ....

Ok now when I try to play fortress forever I get this . I have no idea what that means and what it could possibly be . Any suggestions ?

[EDIT] Lol wtf, I even got disconnected from steam . It said " lost connection to steam" .... :/

I've had that type of error. I just restart steam and get on with life. Usually works right away again

For me it doesn't. Maybe it's because of the last update ? Servers are busy ?

[EDIT] Yep , this is definitely steam servers problem , I can't play hl2dm too,and I just played it a couple of hours ago.
[EDIT2] Well I talked to a friend and for him hl2dm works X(, I restarted my pc and it still doesn't worl argh
[EDIT3]Resolved. I had to delete some files so that steam redownloads them . It works now !
