Making sprites move along a path has never been possible to my knowledge. But if I remember right, early in Half-Life when Gordon causes the resonance cascade in the chamber, a whole bunch of flare6.spr's converge on the center of the chamber beam thingy. Anyone know how this was done? Am I remembering wrong?

Actually, in Opposing Force it is possible to make sprites follow paths.

Sorry I can't answer your real question though... my memory of mapping terminology is falling a bit short at the moment. I believe it may involve env_beams though. Hmmm.

Hmm, that's an idea, considering you can make a beam use any sprite desired. And one of the parameters might? control the movement rate of the sprite accross the beam. I'll try it out and get back. Thanks.

It seems like there was some entity though that handled most of the effect automatically somehow. But maybe I'm just mistaken.

Wasn't it an env_funnel or something? I don't know, I never used it. It's worth a try though.

Indeed, env_funnel made the converging sprite effect. And yes, opposing force had moving sprites (sprite_train or something like that).

I wish halflife would upadate to include usefull functions like that. Even counterstrike's func_vehicle.
