Those shots are superb 0rth0doX! i love the tweaks/improvements you made to the train prefab! =)

I can try compiling it and also take a look to see if you left anything obvious out for optimization. Another possible option is to cut up this beast into more than one map.

If not, you may be looking at moderate to severe refiting of the map to get it to work, like raising texture scales and redoing some textures completely, simplifying brushwork, removing/combining models and other visible entites, etc.

Question: if you do a fast VIS compile with no rad, can you play the BSP?

@ Joeobama and DiscoStu: Really, I would like to move to source when it comes to possibilities, overall look.. but you don't get that feel like when you play one decade+ old game... I mean any mod in goldsrc.. I don't know maybe i'm too used to this great old engine or i'm too lazy to learn more about source...

@Captain Terror: thanks, now the train is used as hiding point from sniper (cause of T balcony you see above the train) and as only passage between two main CT routes. But as you said I need to optimize it much more and delete many entities as possible..
I thought maybe like they did in Condition Zero DS with models, for instance I saw in some big maps they merged almost all map models in one file with same distance proportions according to bsp proportions. Also I'm sure they used for CZ their custom tools because of these really huge maps and environments. I will try these new SHLT or VHLT.
For textures I think I streched all textures close to limit when it starts to look ugly (in playable areas) for example all floor textures in playable areas have scale of 3.00 some 3.50 and for surroundings I used 10.00, for buildings around 5.

Really I don't know if it is possible yet, first I don't know if there are any leaks I mean everything looks sealed off but you never know..
I only wanted to see it playable and to check for invisible brush faces errors that used to appear when compiled with ZHLT v3.4 tools.

@Daubster, Archie: Thanks, haha not the sort of real pull off but I will try my best... It can be compiled and it can be viewed in BSP editor but you can't play it. I will upload rmf or bsp when as soon as I change some things just to say it is beta or prebeta...

Pretty good, Urby! My first time (besides some simple entity testing) was a TF2 map that I never finished that revolved around a lighthouse. Didn't look half bad, but I lost all my work somehow. From one point on, every time I opened the map, it crashed.

My first proper Source map was never finished. It was for the Sourcey Rooms thread, but the compile times suddenly jumped from around five minutes a pop to the point where even after leaving it for a day it never finished. I think I may have screenshots of it somewhere in this thread.

Beh, working on my transport truck, the one you guys seen of the blue transport truck is textured with a bunch of quick shaders thrown on it.

They look pretty good, but honestly it's difficult to answer that question because we have no idea what artistic direction you're aiming for.

Photorealism wise they look too cartoonish, too colored with little detail, but any other artistic direction they look fine.

Here is an L22 Carbine. It is missing the dust flap, and it doesn't have a SUSAT yet. It had to borrow an Aimpoint from that Bullpup AK.

@Zeeba - The triggers on SA80's are pretty huge to begin with. Although the shape does need a bit of fine tuning on that model.

It is Sketchup. There is an SMD plugin,in fact I made a new MP5 model for Joebama that's now the skin I use for the MP5 in HL. It's just that I never got round to learning how to UVWrap and animate them and stuff. But if I get my hands on a new hard drive this year and make space for a copy of 3DS Max, I might end up putting some in.

Incorrect use of semicolons but aside from that it looks alright. A bit plain, but sometimes that's best.
