Im changing original HL1 sounds for some custom ones but i have noticed that, despite the fact the NPCs emit the audios, they dont open their mouths to speak it.

Im using .wav sounds with 11khz, 22khz and 44khz, 8bit and 16bit. Im also using cue points on them.

Is this related to some arquive responsable for lip sync or im missing some audio config?

Hey! Welcome to TWHL.
Be mindful of which forum section you're posting in - this might have gone overlooked if not for the 'Active Threads' section on the homepage.

Anyway - Have you modified the sentences.txt file?
Tutorial on That here...

Audio needs to be .wav format, 22khz and 8bit should work. Also, make sure it's mono and is a reasonable volume.

It depends on the model in question, as well. In Half-Life, only scientists, barneys, the G man, the hologram instructor and the player model are able to move their mouths. Other models, including the soldiers, beta models etc. do not have 'mouths'. You can check which model has a mouth using a software, modelviewer.

I remember this issue when I had voice lines myself.. Like 2muchvideo said - make sure the models actually can move their mouths & also check for the sentence.txt entry that everything fits and last make sure to make it in wav. bit mono format I believe 8bit were the correct one. When I created voice files I had the same issue till I tried different conversions of wav. and wolla 1 thing suddenly worked.

Don't expect to much though. Sometimes they move their mouth in a funny way that it almost looks like they are Zombies going for a huge bite while talking. ^^ :)

Anyone know how to actually find the sentences.txt file.
It's been eons since i've mapped for HL1 and i'm working on a special project.
Where's the pack explorer for the WON half life?

Excuse my laziness.
