This looks extremely fun!

I would like to start playing soon, and take advantage of the generously-gifted key from Atom... hopefully sometime after Decemberween ;)

Can you give us the coords of that portal?
Captain Terror, it's even more fun when you can explore the virgin territory. Until December there will be a lot of stuff built by players.

Yeah, best to get in early. No need to wait for Dethemberween.

The last 5 or so times I've gone on, no-one else was on =( What is timing?

Great, but I'm not going to use that any more. Generating the map is way too time consuming and eats up tons of disk space. And then you have to upload the whole thing which is also time consuming.

I really hate this new system of villager breeding. It's a pain in the ass to get them to breed now. Why do they keep fucking up mechanics that work.

EDIT: So yea, I can't get more than 3 villagers at a time. The whole 'Willing' system is fucked, and I can't find an easy way to make it less so. Probably not going to be an Iron Grinder this time if I Can't figure this out. Really frustrating.

EDIT II: So my system works in single player, but not on multiplayer, which makes no sense. I don't get what is happening. There is no difference to how I'm building stuff. It should work. Mojang fix yo game.

I'd rather have a farm. It's just easier in the long run. But that doesn't matter, golems only drop iron when killed by action on the players part. So yea, they purposefully broke iron farms. Which is a dick move. I always thought MC was a game where the players were able to choose how they played, guess not. Why does Mojang have to kill all the fun? Nothing was better than finishing off a huge iron farm and watching the golems fall and burn. So much iron. It was glorious.

EDIT: Wait no, ok, so I'm reading the change logs update by update over the last few months, which is confusing, so first they did the change I mentioned, but the following week removed it. So I guess they still work. Really confusing, I think as long as I can gather up 10 villagers I should be fine!

EDIT II: More reading, I guess farmers will only farm if mob grief is on. Weird setting. Poop, guess I better stock up on trading materials.

EDIT III: So, the mass of my villagers just got turned into zombies. I don't know how, all the holes are covered in their containment cell. I was about to move over a few more villagers to hopefully reach 9. So yeah. At this point it's 2 steps forward 3 back.

I probably don't need to, what with my place more or less being merged with spawn anyway. Prehaps when I finish my place in construction...

I've connected a few places with the skyway. One end leads right up to yours, Rimmeh, and the other end is Striker's. brendanmint perhaps lives a bit far away for it. Tawnos sort of has a nearby stop in the middle. Er... if there's anyone else frequenting the server at the moment, I've not heard of them. Oh, and of course my present abode is built into it.

Maybe if I extend it out, I'll change over to other materials and methods than tree-swingin'. Maybe even add minecart support.

If anything I'm going to either A. Make an underground/aboveground rail to spawn from my base, or B. Hook up my nether base with Tawnos' proposed nether spawn(as well as build a rail station or two there so other builds can hook up. Which is something we need to talk about, all the random rails/lack of rails was annoying last map, we need order!) So at some point I'll be hooked in.

I already started a rail and a rail station from my home, but didn't go far with it ( only had iron for about 3 stacks of rail).

The skyway reail is a more elegant approach imho, it will also be visible on Atom's screenshot of the map.

It won't do tricks itself, but as we can now place it in significantly less protected areas, we can make it (open air fire in a wooden home for example).

So trying to breed villagers was getting annoying and pissing me off, so I took a break for a bit and built something in the woods. Halloween is around the corner and I thought I would something festive.

It's a semi-automated [REDACTED] factory! It's not done yet, but it is definitely getting there, only one more [REDACTED] farm to build, which is the furthest building back, and it's output should be satisfactory. Only took a day or so of mining the redstone and such for clocks, and the iron for hoppers, the hardest parts were designing the redstone timers and making all of the mechanics compact and hidden, many designs were considered from all over the internet, and capturing the chickens for eggs. The only downside to the design is to craft the [REDACTED] you have to run around to each farm for the materials, then find a bench to make them at. So yeah, hopefully this thing works out well. Then it's back to the villager breeding grind

I know right? I'm playing on a different server where I had the same problem, I couldn't get my villagers to breed by letting them plant and harvest crops. They just wander around and not doing anything with the potatoes I threw at them. Sure, you can trade with them to make them 'willing' but that's not what I wanted, at least not yet.

Then it hit me: the mobGriefing gamerule. If set to false, which is the case on both my TWHL server and the one I play on, Creepers don't damage terrain and Enderman don't pickup blocks. I don't have a problem with Creepers blowing things up, but I do have a problem with Enderman taking random blocks and damaging the terrain like that. So that's why I have mobGriefing set to false. But guess what: setting the mobGriefing gamerule to false also stops farmer villagers from picking up, planting and harvesting crops! Well damn HELLS BLAZES FRICKER! User posted image

So, I can either:

1. Re-enable mobGriefing. Creepers and Enderman can damage terrain again, but farmer villagers can finally pickup, plant, harvest and share crops with other villagers to make them willing to breed.

2. Keep mobGriefing disabled. No Creeper and Enderman damage but farmer villagers will NOT pickup, plant, harvest and share crops with other villager. The only way to make them willing to breed is to trade with them.

I'm ok with it beign true, I kind of see repairs to stuff a part of playing Minecraft, then again endermen destroying my redstone would be annoying as hell. but I know others have their own opinions. If it's gonna be a vote, I vote Yay.

Enderman don't destroy redstone. They only pick up blocks described here: http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Enderman#Moving_blocks

Your redstone is safe.

I say soon to be because while it's already public, no one knows what it does, or where it is yet. I just need to add in a storage room for overflow and a wall around it for protection. Then we can all enjoy [Redacted] together!

Aw. Admittedly I haven't been on for a few months, but I never got the chance to make my proper house.

Probably for the best. I was planning on making a spaceship at the highest altitude I could and only having it accessible through a nether portal. Given how many problems I have had in the past with nether portals and lag, that idea probably wouldn't have worked too well.
