I'm very close to finishing but ive got a few entity issues that won't be nice and be easy to solve. Could I send a duplicate of the entities to someone to see if they can fix it?

Still working on mine, however I spend too much time working on details, not so much on the layout, which is not good. I really want to get mine in. I'm at work at the moment, as soon as I get home I'm going to continue working on it.

Also, Cities Skylines is coming out today that I'm really looking forward too, but I must resist not playing it until my floor is done. Such torture.

That game looks amazing. I never really looked into it but I saw pyrion flax playing it on YouTube which was not only hilarious but showed off a lot of the mechanics.

Just returned to my map, and one of my brush entities was missing (missing, not gone — the entity still existed, but the brushes seemed to have disappeared) and one part of my entity setup that I most definitely had working no longer seems to be. :confused:

EDIT: Oh, it was just another brush entity I forgot existed that did the same thing. There's definitely some bug in Sledge about hiding brushes that aren't in visgroups and closing Sledge.

EDIT2: Though, now I think about it, I'm pretty sure they were in a visgroup... I'll have to do further tests. Later. I've got a map to work on.
Progressing slowly. Each area needs a little work to be presentable, so no media.

@urby Did you manage to fix those glitches in my map? I know it's just plain out bad to just drop my map with someone and expect them to fix it, but I'm not very experienced with the changes to entities Spirit made.

Admittedly I haven't done anything on mine since those screenies, apart from working on it today. Not only have I been extremely busy with college, I also made the mistake of playing System Shock which has been sucking up all of my free time. You can rest assured however that I will definitely try to have it in on time. I've managed to tear myself away from SShock, and I'm keeping abreast of my course enough that I feel I can afford to miss a few hours of lectures in order to do more work on the map.

If only the base map had an optional freight elevator or something as well, it would make my life a whole lot easier. :P

My floor is going to be split into an office kind of area and a workshop area. I've done some of the workshop area, but not enough to show anything of yet.

M' plan was to work on this today, but my body clock is all screwed up and I'm trying to fix it. As a result, I was pretty buggered all day. Hopefully I'll be better rested tomorrow and can power through.

Brightened considerably in Paint.NET because the lighting was very dark and I'm just about to go get a bus so I don't have time to adjust it.

That kind of brushwork is exactly what the GoldSource Engine is usefull for. You can't really make good brushwork in Source, since almost Everything have to be models, or it will just look bad.

Well there's been a lot of progress in community-coded goldsource compilers. Source actually has smoothing groups and lightmap control that contribute significantly to the look and shading of world brushes.

Not taking anything away from ya, TJB - that looks fantastic!

Well, my baby is due on the 19th I'll be getting two weeks paternity leave. Ideally I want all the entries by then so I can use the time off to link it all together.

March 15th absolute final deadline! That's 16 days to fill a 1024 x 1024 space. There's no excuse really. :P
He sounded pretty final about it. For it is not just a deadline, it's a dadline.

Actually, it's not so much that I spent a long time on it, but that there were far more important things I should have been doing when I got caught up on it. That's the kind of reason I never release maps.

Fricking Spirit of HL.
Setting the angle of a monster that is spawned from a monstermaker does'nt work any more. Even when I set the angles, Hammer tells me the monstermaker has unused keyvalue.

Looks like I need to use the 'Angles of monster [LV]' field but that doesn't work either.

EDIT: Nevermind, it works anyway.

Well i synced all my files to my laptop so if i find downtime on vacation im going to try to make progress. It's really just setting up all these damn triggers. I always pick ambitious goals.

Mine was a tad rushed on the detail side of things, but I'll probably give it a few whacks with a Sledge and pretty it up now that there's more time. Particularly a... graphical flaw of sorts that I recognised early on and then completely forgot about. It's only really noticeable if you're looking for it, but I suspect people may well do so given my floor's quirk.

Actually, I haven't seen a rule for entry in this project that says your floor needs gameplay. I bet you can make an eyecandy party without any gameplay at all and it will still be good.
Just looking at a nicely designed room can sometimes be more fun then blasting off some aliens.

Until yesterday I've used the vanilla HL FGD file to map my floor, I'm now using the SoHL FG that came with the twhltower mod folder. And now all of a sudded my scripted sequences are really glitchy. The transition between an action animation to a regular idle stance is no longer smooth, if that makes any sense.

Yeah, it seems going from Vanilla to SoHL isn't as smooth as I expected. Monstermakers for example, from Vanilla appear to disable AI in spirit, however just replacing the entity using spirit works fine.

the silph co. building is 11 floors.

the Chrysler building is 77 floors.

Therefore, TWHL tower could be 143 floors
