How many of you still use Windows XP these days? Which OS do you use now as your gaming environment?

I'm asking because i've noticed that more and more new tech is not capable of running on older systems and i'm wondering if it's still worth supporting XP at this time.

Windows 10, no idea why anybody in this day in age would still use XP. Plenty of programs I've been using have been phasing out XP support over the last couple years.

XP was released 17 years ago, think it's time people moved onto an objectively more stable OS.

Only thing XP is still needed for these days is hardware machine control, cnc mills etc... Machines which are very expensive to replace to justify switching to anything newer.

I would be surprised who would even be able to use XP as a daily driver these days.

I still use Windows XP to run Worldcraft 2, but also Far Cry 1 because the water doesn't reflect the terrain on newer Windows versions.

But primarily I use Windows 7.

Who in their right mind would use a seventeen-year-old operating system? By digital standards it's bloody archaic.

My current computer has 7 which is already old enough. It does everything I need it to do. When I get a new one I'll be kind of forced to use 10 on it.

I do have XP in a VM that I use for pretty much nothing other than seeing if I could install XP in a VM.

Windows XP was now two computers ago for me. Must be be six or seven years ago at least that I stopped using it.
Oddly I had a user of one my mods complain about Windows XP support - when I tried to fix it and asked for their help in verifying the fix they never came back.

The only reason I can imagine me ever using XP for is old games that don't function on 64-bit OSs.

Alright, thanks for the feedback. Looks like i don't have to worry about stuff not working on anything older than W7, which is the oldest OS that Dot Net Core supports.

Man, I still used XP for YEARS up until like early 2010s-ish. I was using an old hand me down rig at the time pawned off a family friend for like $60. Funny thing about it though was that it had a Windows Vista sticker on the front of the tower, guessing the case was just ripped out of it's original parts.

I was basically always on the cheap for a long time. Now though I use Windows 8 and now it's really more of just a lack of interest in upgrading to Windows 10. Maybe by Windows 30 I'll think about it!!

2010 was still 4 years away from EOL. Back then it was a pretty current OS, 7 was still rising after the Vista flop.

My understanding is that there will never be another "version" of Windows after 10. Microsoft will just keep updating Windows 10 for eternity.

I have Win10, and so does every computer and laptop at home.

"Funny thing about it though was that it had a Windows Vista sticker on the front of the tower"
Lol. My laptop had a Vista sticker (because it was manufactured in 2007), but Windows 7 was installed. It was probably installed by its previous owner.
"Who in their right mind would use a seventeen-year-old operating system?"
In their right mind, nobody. In their wrong mind, me. I've used it as a daily driver OS until 2014 when my old PC died. Still using it occasionally whenever I feel like it. :P

I once saw a Windows 95 PC being used in my elementary school's library. :P
