Ok, to make a functioning rotoating door you must group an origin brush near the hinge of the door right? Well it didn't work for me. I made a origin brush that was 1 unit thick, expanded the width of the door and was the height of the door but it still bases the rotation of the door on the center of the map. Whats going on?

No, you don't group it. Grouping is RMF-format only. It's for mapping convenience. The origin brush must be tied to the door_rotating.

i put the origin brush 1 unit bigger on each side so i just overlaps the faces of the door brush

Sorry, I read another thread and someone (think it was Slayer A) said you must group the doors together. So let me get this straight:
1: You make A door block and tie it to a func_door_rotating
2: You put an origin brush where you want the door's hinges to be
3: Tie the origin brush to a func_door_rotating
4: Run into it and it should work on it' hinges?

No. You make the door and the origin brush, select both and assign the selection to func_door_rotating. There is no need to adjust settings (except from a couple of flags like reverse direction etc) as the default axis is Z and default pitch is 90 for Z axis. So just leave the settings.

I see, I'll test it and see what happens

for an optimal hinge, have it lay the same units into the door, as out of it.
the height of the origin is not important.
