How can you make models move around. Like the loader.mdl in the GCF file. You all should know. Its in halflife. (The yellow machine that holds a box, that works in toxic slime) Is there a way, other than coding your own monster.... If there is no other way, could someone link me to a tut or something.

You will need to add two un-named Ambient_Generics.
One for each of the Loaders sounds. Otherwise the loader wont make noise.

yeh im having similar prob but i kinda solved it by putting path_corner at start and one at end of a corridor and tested it worked to my surprise but no sound obviously and i check console and says

SV_StartSound: ambience/loader_step1.wav not precached (0)
SV_StartSound: ambience/loader_hydra1.wav not precached (0)
SV_StartSound: ambience/loader_step1.wav not precached (0)
SV_StartSound: ambience/loader_hydra1.wav not precached

over and over so i have searched it but i cant seem to locate these sounds any idea where they are? :confused:

i tried ambiant_gen (cant spell) and told it to play sound hydra1.wav and step1.wav but it didnt play it and i triggered it so wen the loader machine walks through it it starts the machine noises but no luck and by the way im still experimenting cause im kinda new on the models!! bit!! :cool: :roll:

I think you have to type ambience/loader_hydra1.wav and ambience/loader_step1.wav. Make sure you don't type . I had problems with this. I wonder why they didn't give the loader it's own folder instead of putting it in ambience?

Ambient Generic Of particular interest would be the note next to WAV name...

To All... Before you ask a question have a look at the Entity guide. I wrote it for that purpose.

Because most of the sounds in the Ambient folder loop.

Anon... The Loader was designed to run in HL, that was 5 years ago. It was not meant to be updated. Why not build your own.

im still having problems though

well i got it to work kinda the sound plays as soon as the map starts and only plays once but i want it to play continuesly also it seems to have stopped my loader from moving to the path_corner :
