Does anyone now how to delete a large portion of a map very quickly and easily ?

well its a trick i learnt i think u could make a huge block or brush as u brains call it then make it so it covers the bit u want to delete then go to tolls and carve it will get rid of it but its risky cause of its problems try it and see if im right
