i got me vhe up n running now. but i cant get the env_rain, snow, fog, or fade to work.. i notice that with the tom cs expert 1.6.fgd came sprites and effect sprites.. where do i put those? do i put them into the steamcstrike folder? i really want a dark gloomy rainy hawaiian paradise map. oh ya! can you have like an env_fog, and an env_rain in one room together? or will that lagg to much?!?

i appreciate all the help! Aloha ;)

you can't have fog at all, or snow, unless you're making a dod map, the rain is just an env_rain
the sprites go in valve hammer sprites i think

Sprites normally go into modfoldersprites, in your case that's indeed counter-strikecstrikesprites.

Not that I know how that entity works, but you could tell us what exactly you've done (e.g. how did you set up that entity, how did you run the game, what happened in-game). You could also search on Google for articles or explanations about the env_rain entity...

CS 1.6 and dod and natural selection all suport env_rain and env_snow.

There'll probably be something on Counter-Map.

i'm pretty sure snow doesn't work, well it didn't last time i checked, well over 3 months ago.
hey zombie, i never doubted that rain wouldn't work.. i just said fog and snow don't.

i think survivor used the old falling texture snow tbh m8

DoD has snow, so they must have written new code (or fixed existing code)

rain is just an env_rain entity.. you can type in : env_rain and it shoudl work (if you don't have it in your fgd list)

Env_snow already exists though, why use the sprite?

cs_expert-tom793_wc35.fgd, and zoners newest custom build tools. "
then i go into the game and no rain.? i tried typing in the consol "cl_weather 1" and nothing still happened.. where could the damn gremlin be so i can shoot that bastard!!!??

anymore help would make me piss my pants with envy.. ;)

Try Counter-Map.

you need a sky texture at the top to let it know where to rain from

I think weather only works in OpenGL.
