hmm... i dont fully understand what your talking about. if you want faster compile, i would recommend a batch compiler. google for nems batch compiler hl. that should give you a better compiler with more functions, such as "fast" vis.

He said that he wants to leve everything in already-compiled file and include only light entities (or just entities), not all map, and vis (becouse it is already done, right?). AND i ALSO want to know is it possible, so plz reply :D

what i mean is if u have a map..and after u have compilt it discover that u do not like the lights ..is it then posible 2 change the lights and only run the compile on the lights changes...so u dont have 2 run a full compile

Mhh... you could try ticking off the CSG, BSP and VIS lines, perhaps the compilers will used the files generated during the last compile. I doubt if it'll work, though.

What I do know is that you can use cordon compiling, e.g. you use the cordon tool to select a part of the map, and compile that part only. This is especially handy fur test purposes or for fixing lights or entities in a part of a large map.

when you uncheck csg, bso and vis, then only rad will be compiled and file will be REPLACED. Or so do i think. I wonder is ther any other way...

Anyone ever used the -incremental flag on HLRAD? It creates a lighting file, that allows for skipping of BuildVisLeafs, MakeScales and SwapTransfers, the three main time-consuming parts of compiles. You cannot modify anything related to geometry, even if its func_walling something or creating a new brush.
