I can not find a train tut on this site.
I think that a tut on makeing trains would be a good idea as they can be hard to make work when you have pionts and stuff.

I'm pretty sure there is, isn't there?

Try searching google.

I guess there's alot of tutorials this site needs, but it's slightly annoying when people don't even look at them in the first place.. and when you have to explain them afterwards :

Mayeb someone should write one.. CP, 7, Andy?

That is how to make a elevator, just edit it slightly to your needs.
Yes it is actually on TWHL.

Idiot, you are just being a total idiot now, you expect help, people try to help, then you shout when it isn't exactly the right thing.

Most things can be made from the tutorials on this site, you just have to adjust them to fit your needs. So shut the fuck up and listen for once.

func_train uses path_corners.Trains need to be a func_track train and use func_track points also only trains use branch tracks train controlls ect.Trains are a lot more complex than elevator.

sry func_track trains use path_tracks
Posted 20 years ago2004-10-28 11:29:15 UTC Post #70090
No, they can be set up exactly the same as a func_train but targeting '_tracks instead of '_corners.

There's always the Entity Guide. The Map Vault too, I think one of our Scandanavian comrades made it, but regardless, there's a great func_tracktrain example map in there.

Trains are a lot more complex than elevator.
They aren't alot harder.

Oh my god, you have been here 17 days, made two maps with no architecture and crappy textures, so that must mean you know more than me.

I can't believe you expect people to help you when you treat them like idiots, even though your the one with the problem.

BUT THEY ARE NOT SIMPLE when you have branch tracks that are targeted by buttens door`s that open as the train arprochs player and no player controll Train lifts ect.
1 tut that tells you how to make all of that in 1 map would be usefull.

I think there's no need for a train tutorial. The func_train and func_tracktrain's useage and functions are all covered on this site, on the VERC and probably on various other sites. I've also seen some tutorials about them on some sites.
Search doesn't mean: search this site only...

Besides... some things you'll just have to be able to figure out yourself. A bit more determination can do the job... That it's not simple doesn't mean we have to do all the thinking part for you...

Tip: Visit the VERC more often... it contains some nice articles and tutorials, as well as a very good entity coverage.

Did you search for tutorials? ;)

At least you got them working yourself, and that's sometimes much more valuable in terms of learning than having someone else telling you exactly what to do.

yes they do, but you could also let them walk wiht scripted sequences.

There's an example map on making monsters patrol. It's covered in a tutorial too, one of the In The Beginnings. Making them walk to a particular place is covered in pepper's very own tutorial, Scripted, and several other example maps.
