I don't think it's possible straight-on like that. You might want to try NULL on one side of a brush and {BLUE on the other (on an entity, obviously), but I doubt you can.

However, you may be able to work around it. Single-player or multiplayer? Explain the scenario.

You could make the turret go THROUGH part of a shield, or make a hole in a big see through forcfield wall that the barrel just fits through. The entire wall is bullet proof, but since the turret bullets start shooting PAST the wall, you might be ok.

if the turret is going to shoot thru the wall everybody will shoot at the at the wall and the turret will explode :

Thats not I want

I tried a couple of things, but no dice. Interesting problem though.

You could try making the turret outside of the wall, then put the func_turret controls behind the wall, where the player is.

it's supposed to mean that it's ironic that you complain and say that you hate people who ask stupid questions when you do it yourself.

Dolt..

likely the best course of action Pyroclasm, however, this could make the turret rather difficult to aim.

Saribous is right Saco so calm down :)

I suppose you could give the turret lots of health so that it can not die!

lots of health? That means,I have to code...if it was a sp map ,I would but this is going to be a dm map. :(
that you hate people who ask stupid questions when you do it yourself.
if my question is stupid, why did you post !

I don't think that the turret even has health. I'm pretty sure they are invincible, unless you are talking about monster_turrets, in which case I am completly confused. :zonked:

Of course i am. That was a moronic statement.

The turret has unlimited health.
I don't think this can be done without coding, and he says it's gonna be a MP map so..

Saco, i think you will have to find a way around the problem. The HL1 engine is getting old now :(

The monster_turret ,guys?! we are talking about a monster_turret. :
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-20 01:21:29 UTC Post #91945
trigger_push 1000000 , and when you shoot at it the bullets will come flying back at you
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-20 03:57:54 UTC Post #91969
Don't think that would work for bullets, though...
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-20 23:33:16 UTC Post #92165
trigger_hurt with a negative value would constantly heal the turret.
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-21 12:04:28 UTC Post #92223
does that work for mechanical machines? :

I didnt know that.Thx :D
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-21 22:43:21 UTC Post #92425
It should...
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-22 18:16:24 UTC Post #92636
I didn't know you could have turrets in mp.
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-23 02:58:57 UTC Post #92727
Regarding Hudlum's post, does stuff like that effect bullets in the source engine, I know crossbow bolts glance off stuff, but are bullet trajectories affected by trigger pushes (or their source equivalent)
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-23 08:27:16 UTC Post #92772
what turret is this, monster_turret or the one with the origin brush?
Posted 19 years ago2005-02-23 08:29:14 UTC Post #92773
if its a origin brush one could u set the barral lenght longer than it is so the turret is in side the shield but the bullets admerge just outside the shield..

I just thought it an appropriate spot to ask that question, as no one appears to be answering it, I'll take it elsewhere, to the HL2 questions.
