Hi fellow mappers, how do i add models not included in hammer by using the monster_furniture? The model i want to place is located in the pak0 file (the skeleton) but i don't have a clue how to make the monster_furniture to use it. I tried the name by itself (don't remember it, but it was probably 'skeleton' or something) but it didn't work. Plx hlp

Get Wally or some pak browser. They can usually export all the files inside.

... He's talking about placing a model in his map, not exporting files.

In the "model" field of the monster_furniture, you have to type in models/skeleton.mdl, or whatever the name of the model is to get it to work.

I think you need to use a monster_generic. Not a monster_furniture.

Either could work, but monster_generic is probably a better decision. Monster_furniture automatically drops the model to ground level, so you can't elevate it any higher than the model's origin.

The monster_generic would bleed...

srry is correct, you'll need to enter the relative path and name of the model.

Note that both func_furniture and func_monster have a bounding box that the player collides with, and if I remember correctly, both can be blown to gibs with explosives. In most cases that collision box is too large or too small for the actual model, so I used the cycler entity as a workaround, though it's a bit harder to use. Using models in HL is a bit hacky, allas.
