0 points read means the pointfile does not contain information.
So when the pointfile was created, there was no leak.
Make sure that the has been updated.
You can also load the pointfile in the VHE, try this.

Or, maybe you haven't run HL with -particles (x)? It needs particles to display the pointfile.

Did you do vertex manipulation or carving? Sometimes that leads to leaks as vertexes are set to the grid during the compile wich can sometimes lead to very thin leaks.

As for -particles, you'll have to enter a number after that option to define the amount of particles. -particles 10000 or such should be fine.

Or maybe you should post the map in the Problems section of the Vault?

If you have enough RAM, and it's a big map, run it with -particles 80000 or something big...it won't load em all on huge maps. I've ran it with -10000 before and it didn't load all of my points.

I don't think you can have 80000 particles. I'm sure the limit is 65536. Put that in.

(Limit taken from default number on a batch compiler)

Nope, I've tried it with 80.000 and it loaded about 70.000. If I remember correctly, off-course... :)

I think that 65536 is an estimation. Perhaps it's a good number to ensure Half-Life wont crash on certain machines.

65536 is a binary number (2^16). They're often limits for things.
