SpongeHalf SquareLife. Why not? You can think up a story about Spongebob and Patrick hunting jellyfish. Then something goes wrong at Krusty Krab, and they have to reach Plankton's evil lair to retrieve the Krabby Patty formula. So classic...

Yes. I noticed the sound file is bigger than the map itself though lol. The style reminded me of fy_poolday from counter strike 1.6. I like the simplicity. For goodness sake, choose a better screen so you can get some dl's! Hehe. And as far as it relates to snarkpit, it's pretty minimal though lol. Sorry if I sound like i'm talking it down. I enjoyed it.

Learning a new language while you're young is faster and you should try it. There's a saying that you get a new soul for each language you learn ^^(or so I remember, don't know where I heard/read this).
"Sors motor" sounds really funny :).
I myself really want to learn German, and I've been listening on my commutes to some german conversations but it hardly sticks to me because I'm focusing on other activities. I'd also like to improve my french, which I was never good at. I can't understand how, I learned it at school but meh... Then a bit of some other languages, like spanish, russian, japanese and/or chinese. And Hungarian! I've grown with and know people who speak hungarian, and it's so damn hard to learn.
I guess these languages will be a life-long goal :)).

German and Arabic are two languages I really like. I really find them pleasant to hear, especially Arabic. I'm actually learning it! They're two very useful languages as well.

@Highlander Always considered? We were forced to do that in 6th grade
I use every language I know when possible. I think in English mostly. I only use Bosnian when I'm thinking/talking directly to myself. I'll give my experiences with some languages, briefly:
When I chat with Germans, I understand them sometimes (oh, immer diese Deutschen). Hallo
And especially the Russians! Oh my God, they write everything phonetically: Source engine - sors motor Half-Life - half lajf Russians rule, man "Write how you speak, and read how it's written." - Slavic #1 rule Zdravstvujte
And the Turks. I played HL:DM on a Turkish server. They complained about my ping. I had around 400ms. Still got 40 kills, with a low framerate. Merhaba
Edit: The rule above applies to all Slavic languages. And I didn't use Cyrillic because, well, of this website, you know...

English is my 4th language, somehow. I also know some of Russian and Spanish.
Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian differ by 5%. Only. And so I learned the differences, and now I speak all 3. And as soon as Stojke reads that, he will be angry.
And, Jody (that's her name) is merely 20 centimeters taller than me, and I'm 1.75 meters. So her height is 6.3 feet, I guess? Not that tall, IMO. And what's really long about her is the tail, don't get me started on that, please.

English is already a second language to you, though, right? So Turkish & German would be a third and fourth? That's mighty impressive, young lad. Mighty impressive.
Cut a few inches off your fox, though. Tall girlfriends are the worst.

On the topic of dreams, last night I had a dream where Markiplier and Jacksepticeye came to my house. After waking up, I forgot about the dream and remembered it later.

Your experience resembles with one of mine some months ago, when I dreamed that someone was trying to enter my flat and was woke up by a loud knock noise. Eh... the mind is weird at times.
If you dream a lot, I suggest you take notes when you wake up. It's fun to read about your dreams later :).
What a fun idea for a level. Half-Life with a hint of subterranean supervillain lair, I like it.
It was incredibly dark for me in places and I got stuck a few times because of that. That could be my monitor, not sure, nobody else is commenting on it! Wasn't too fond of that flooded tunnel with all the crate jumping and barnacles, could barely see a thing.
There was a moment in there where I fought off 4 HECU with only 1 health point. I had to cheese them by hiding in the HEV locker room corner behind the metal crates and picking them off as they turned up one at a time to flush me out. That was fun!
played on hard and it was tough. And the puzzles wow... I literally had to follow the path above the rafters from vent to vent till i saw where you had to get up from. And a pitch black platform section...
Ran low on ammo due to buffed enemy HP on hard mode, I think the ammo and health is in short supply, but just enough to get thru. Though the mid-boss area is quite the challenge. Tried rushing at first but you had that one dude in the most random location to prevent just that.
No idea why you had the first group of soldiers have extremely low health, but I suppose it was for balancing since there were like a bunch of them and you likely had limited ammo by then. There were a few annoying things like invisible walls in the elevator among other places. And a strange mp5 replacement with different arms.
Overall a great map with lots of stuff, starting out all quiet and going all out war by the end. Maybe twhl world woulda been just as awesome
Also, side note - temperatures were listed in imperial, whereas even in the US scientists (and military) tend to use the metric system - so those should be in Celsius or Centigrade, rather than Fahrenheit.
Well, in Half-Life, Black Mesa uses fahrenheit for temperatures, at least in announcements. Unless they are keeping Black Mesa at 68 degrees celcius as some sort of experiment :/
'Number of days since last incident: NULL POINTER EXCEPTION'
Great sense of humor, good brushwork, (though it is a bit odd to me that most of the facility was unfurnished rock) excellent use of puzzles and backtracking.
A bit on the difficult side, though. I'd advise making one of the depleted health chargers not (at least on medium, since it's SoHL-based and IIRC that's a thing you can do) or add another medkit or two. By the end I was scrambling past encounters just trying not to get killed as I had ~24 health and there were no supplies nearby. Also, side note - temperatures were listed in imperial, whereas even in the US scientists (and military) tend to use the metric system - so those should be in Celsius or Centigrade, rather than Fahrenheit.

Had some hands on time with Vive and yes the image is quite pixelated, but after some time you stop noticing it, i think its due to the way the optics work that makes it hard to make a good clean image without distortion. The controllers are great, sense of depth was as close to real life as it could have been. Played an indie dev game with a lot of physics elements so had a great chance to test the controllers.

like always, tremps maps are crazy! so is w_poly. tremp is getting really good at mapping weird curved stuff. I played it for a while in our rfes hldm server called quakeroach where many other crazy tremps maps rotate and it was surprisingly interesting for such a small map. Lots of cover, lots of tactics, jumping through windows and other action movie crap. 4 hours 4 stars, should have spent 1 more hour to fix the crazy w_poly and used up decals.

One detail: only tried the Oculus with Project Cars, but I could tell HTC vive was worse for me after I switched from Oculus. I also got the feeling that the display was more pixelated, even from what I understand both run at the same resolution.
To answer your questions:
1. For 2 hours. Played about an hour with the Oculus Rift only Project Cars, then HTC Vive on Projects Cars and Hover Junkers.
2. Yes I did, in Hover Junkers. Even though you surely know you're with the feet on the ground, your equilibrium centers in the brain are getting rekt.
3. Oculus Rift pros: lighter, has integrated (audio)headset that has quite good quality. Cons: manual lens adjustment
HTC Vive pros: comes with the controllers in one package, really ergonomic controllers and easy to use, has better spacial positioning due to external sensors Cons: the displays seems more pixelated, it's quite heavy and leaves marks on the upper cheeks(you can feel its weight)
5.Oculus Rift... but I really like the HTC Vive controllers :)).
6. They were quite comfortable, but after some time I just felt I needed to take a break( after about 30 minutes).
7. I only know it used Nvidia GTX 1070. It wasn't a demonstration, I actually played for 2 hours.
8. eehhhh... I rather think VR is a genre of its own. Not all games we play today are transferable to the VR, at least not as it works today. Racing games and first-person shooters are probably the easiest to transfer to this type of experience, but an RTS wouldn't be suited for this. 2D games are definitely better played on a screen.
9. Yes I would. My first impression when sitting in the racing chair, grasping the wheel that opposed my hands in every cornering, and changing the gears manually while "being there" was: I was blown away. In Hover Junker I almost wanted to put the controllers I was holding "on the table", and at the least moment I figured that's not a good idea! Also I wanted to sit on a chair. That didn't happen either. What happened was that me and my friends showed the finger a lot and spoke into non-existing microphone.
10. No. It is much too expensive for what it offers at this point. HTC Vive costs 900 euro, Oculus Rift is cheaper. Plus, although the immersion effect is good enough, you still see a pixelated "reality". I don't understand how such a high resolution those VR headsets use can still appear pixelated. Perhaps the video settings were adjusted but I doubt that. It definitely has potential and I can't wait for the 2nd or 3rd generation where lots of problems will have been fixed. Perhaps I'm repeating myself, but if you ever have a chance to test them, do it. It will give you a taste of future gaming.

It's obvious that this journal post was a birthday one because he posted a journal like this a year ago on the same day. Doesn't even require solving the riddle.
You can think up a story about Spongebob and Patrick hunting jellyfish. Then something goes wrong at Krusty Krab, and they have to reach Plankton's evil lair to retrieve the Krabby Patty formula. So classic...
You would need cartoony textures, maps (obviously), new models (definitely), new sounds, and maybe a little bit of code.
If you're planning on making new entities and changing some AI behaviour, then you will need C++.
Here's an idea:

The palm tree leaves are a little flat. You can use angled brushes to add some volume to them. PM me if you'd like an example.
One of the bases has a side corridor you can't get through as it's too narrow.
Lighting please. Even if the outside ends up just as bright (which would be fine) the tunnels underneath are painful on the eyes.
Strafing seagulls!
Otherwise, you've got a good little map here. Touch it up a bit and it'll be great.
Really the fun colors and textures exuberate with charm! I can't quite put my eye on it but something seems familiar, haha.

I dunno if I can come up with anything for this, but I'll keep it in mind. Really glad to see compos are back.
If you dream a lot, I suggest you take notes when you wake up. It's fun to read about your dreams later :).
Anyway, (very) belated happy birthday!
It was incredibly dark for me in places and I got stuck a few times because of that. That could be my monitor, not sure, nobody else is commenting on it! Wasn't too fond of that flooded tunnel with all the crate jumping and barnacles, could barely see a thing.

Nice reuse of space throughout, too.
Hmm, do you race for the bow or the long jump at first? I'd go for the long jump.
Anyways, pretty neat little map.
Ran low on ammo due to buffed enemy HP on hard mode, I think the ammo and health is in short supply, but just enough to get thru. Though the mid-boss area is quite the challenge. Tried rushing at first but you had that one dude in the most random location to prevent just that.
