Love the ambience! Great detail with those varied sewer bars and mechanical stuff! The feel of this mam reminded me of one of the Morlock lairs from the 2001 Time Machine movie with Guy Pearce, scarily so!(all that was missing were the smelting furnaces, cages, cavern areas!
I only briefly played, but is there a way to get out?
While at first I found the lighting a bit dark, I noticed that pretty much everything that should be lit is. The darkness in the more unimportant areas actually helps sell the nighttime feeling, in my opinion. Really nice, eerie atmosphere.
I liked the enemy placement, and the scripting was nice and fun as well. Good gameplay for the map.
Whoaaa. You managed to tell an interesting story in such a simple and concise manner. One that unravels as you think about it, too! The atmosphere, and creative texture usage are very impressive.

Thanks, Zeeba! Maybe if I get some extra time before the deadline (doubtful) I'll work on those low points.
@Lajron: Hm, can anyone else confirm this? I made sure to only use halflife.wad and zhlt.wad textures (Sledge's filtering is great), and the map loads fine for me without the supposed problem wad.
I really liked that you added gameplay to such a small simple layout. I felt it could have used more puzzle like gameplay though. I really liked the multisource buttons and the lighting effect for the final exit was brilliant!
I loved the car parked at an angle with it's headlights though they could have used gradient lighting imo and definitely called for some texture lighting on the head and tail lights.
Some choices imo could have been changed a little like the glass having it's fx_amount set a little too high looks strange at night. Some more glowing sprites could have been added. The ambience was nice.
The large exit doors looked really nice.
Is it strange that my favorite part of this map is the car? It's placement and angle just looks awesome.
Also, you definitely held very close to the competition brief/ closest I've seen so far.
Wow zeeba! Very, VERY well done. You've set a wonderful theme, and the general ambiance is spot on. I enjoyed the triggers. It made me want to help but I was helpless to do so.
Oh yeah, it is very-nicely nighttime! (I think my old eyes are just having trouble, staring at too many bright led screens all day..)
Fun stuff doe. I wanted to describe the gameplay above, but to not create spoilers, I will just say I really enjoyed it, and it makes me sad that I won't have time to add any to my map ='(
Thanks Captain! I never noticed, but my gamma was around 80% when I made this. I played it again with a 50% gamma and It was a bit darker, but I don't think it's too bad. It's a night map anyway Thanks for the kudos I put a few minutes into it each day until I had a free Friday night and cranked out the rest!
Kitteh is scart, but kitteh will play! <kitteh trembles>
Fun gameplay and goodies all the way to the very ending(which is sweet btw)!
You did well matching the original style of Half-Life(a good thing!), going more the gameplay/scripting route over eye candy.
If I had one complaint, It would be the map is very dark. It fits the horror/suspense theme, so no big worries, just make sure your HL brightness settings are set to stock(so you're not making artificially dark maps).
Big kudos too for entering with your crazy work/school schedule! (Once again, you have inspired me ;))

You'll probably want to get an interpreter of some kind that runs it on a modern PC and maybe has a more modern control scheme than Arrow Keys + Control + Space.

Oh I will definitely check it out regardless! =)
I remember playing doom II for the first time at work(!386 or !486?), 1v1 over IPX i think? All I can remember atm are scary monsters, a shotgun, and a rocket launcher ;P
Downloaded DoomEdit to diskette, never once opened it! Had Castle Wolfenstein 3D on my computer at home, but I wouldn't play a shooter game again until Counter-Strike!
Did they have multiplayer for more than 2 players at a time back then? (fucked if i can remember!)

Regardless of what the two above said, give Brutal Doom a try, they might think it's bad but you never know what you'll think of it. Doom's fun all on it's own, but Brutal Doom just makes it loads of more fun to play.

Great work, and good luck in the comp.

Excellent job. Good luck in the comp!
My twin brother and I came up with the triggers together :D.

+I also liked the truss system you came up with and the color palette, brown/orange and blues worked nicely together.
+Semi wheel chair accessible. An elevator could have been added to make it entirely so.
+Sexy shadow work with tons of lights and nicely placed props.
+/-Hand rails were awesome but weren't added to the catwalks?
-I felt the HEV suit was unnecessary.
-You could have added glowing sprites to the lights.
-Some miss aligned textures.
-Absolutely no ambience!
Really great entry, good luck!
Not sure if this is only on my side or something else?
