Really interesting stuff, I would never be able to figure this out (me being horrible at Math). Are you able to also code for Half-Life (like new weapons and other entities)?

This is a cool exercise, I've never done something like this because I went straight to OpenGL, but understanding the low-level aspects of rendering is pretty important.
Abstraction is very much the key when doing 3D programming. Not only for your data structures, but for the rendering code as well. Even if you are using OpenGL/DirectX you need to know about the low-level stuff like this so you can create your projection matrix. It gets even worse when you start looking into shaders, vertex arrays, frame buffers, and other stuff that introduces even more levels of abstraction between the programmer and the screen output. I still haven't got my head around all the complexities, there's so much stuff to learn

Tetsu0, its funny you say that about the calculator because I had just recently stumbled over this blog http://www.benryves.com/journal/page2 where this guy made a Doom-like game on his TI-84 (I think) calculator. This is leaps and bounds beyond me currently, but it is a thrill when you get something up on the screen! Yes math definetely falls in the "If you don't use it, you lose it!" category. Before I used to kick myself in the leg for not remembering formulas and such, but now I'm getting more comfortable with just knowing what can be done. We can always look up the formulas later (Which I had to do several times in this!) I appreciate the feed back from you guys, and DiscoStu, that TV stands in my wife's womancave as a testament to an era gone by. I often retreat there to escape the sounds of "The Vampire Diaries" blaring from the living room TV. (The Mancave has no TV...)

You probably know more coding and 3D than most people here. I just know how to use the tools that control DirectX and OpenGL.
That's a neat journal man I've always wanted to do some sort of 3D rendering on my calculator. Maybe now i'll try. I do have to admit though; for an engineer, my math skills are lacking.

I have a non steam CS1.6 Is that k? PS I would love to be the commentator. Also use appropriate sound boards, sounds, music and so on.
Wass up guys, this is RET-FM, and I'm your host, well, commentator host, as bla bla bla is hosting the server, any way, moving on, boys, we're going to have a...
Guys already start killing.
Yeah what ever, just go knock yourselves out. -_- Ba dam tss.

Awesome, will do!
Any ideas for games, guys? Would we have enough old maps for any of the multiplayer Source games? Are we doing another retro tournament, or should we just go for any community maps?

I have oldmaps too, just not as old. They're from 2002-2003 but I didn't join TWHL until 2009 I believe. It all depends on what the rules for entry are.

Ha, Striker, there is a heat-haze layer in the composition - I disabled it for better performance while I was working on the reflection and completely forgot to put it back on for the render. What a derp.
AWESOME! Thank you! I did not know about the "align to view" option! Now I can skew whatever texture w/o having to make a new texture and use a series of wall panels or use rotated textures and wall brushes with slanted ends (to get the textures to line up).

I told you not to get caught! Also, because I needed to reopen prisoner intake, my prison went from just under capacity to 20 over. This will be...fun?

Also, I haven't seen a TV with integrated DVD player (or VHS) in like forever.

8-16 person map - simple, fun, christmassy?
TWHL Tribute
Gyradell
Resort
Human Absence
South Beach
My first serious map lol
And I'll probably be back at my folks place when this happens...
"Okay, I'll put the secret here that kills everyone in the map except for me."
Christmas or Holiday themed?
Deadlines hold fast no matter what?
If we don't get enough, we can pull from the old stock?
I didn't make anything good before 2008
and my proper cs maps are at 2011/12

I TOTALLY WANNA DO THATTTT

I'd be down to help with whatever.
I guess we won't be playing my crappy old CS map. That might be for the best.
Awesome looking spiral staircase, too.
It's a tough game to put down.
It literally says that in one of the splash screen messages, and welcome to the club!
