I never actually liked the show when it was on, but now it's one of my favs :)

The character Locke traveled to the outback to go on a "Walk-a-bout". Actually a lot of the characters are from Australia, because Oceanic flight 815 was flying from sydney when it...SPOILERS ALERT :P

I think my parents changed their minds at the last minute because we have friends here.
We should be going to Brisbane during the week though.
And I should probably know this, but who is John Locke?
Commented 12 years ago2012-07-24 09:58:13 UTC in journal: #7913 Comment #54443
Gold Coast isn't Brisbane!

Feed the John Lockes if you happen to see one on a walkabout =)

Heh, no worries :P

Dreamhost is good and cheap, so it was a good choice!

Well, first thing I did this morning was step in cold cat vomit in my bare feet. I am so buying a lottery ticket on the way home.

Well. Turns out that my friend already hired dreamhost while I was looking away. With a referral code that wasn't Penguinboy's. Sorry, but thanks still for the suggestion.

I'll make sure to use it if I need a dreamhost service :)

If you go with Dreamhost, can you use my referral code? It costs nothing extra for the person signing up but it pays for a year of TWHL's hosting :)

The deal is: unlimited everything, one domain name incuded, for $10 a month. It's a pretty good deal.
Commented 12 years ago2012-07-24 05:12:44 UTC in journal: #7912 Comment #62419
Dreamhost is what TWHL uses. It's pretty awesome, and it's cheap too.

yep, these happen to everybody i can assure you. Basically the only thing you can do keep your chin up and be ready for that good luck streak, so you can take full advantage ;)

I personally find days that start out really horrible very often end up awesome fsr, like some universal constant or something =P

Indeed that is correct blitzkrieg. I managed to come across some 4channers as they shouted to me "You mad bro?" as they were pissing in a rubbish bin, and decided to shout back some meme reply and just casually talking about vidya for the 60 seconds I was with them.
I genuinely think you guys should go. I know it's probably not archie's cup of tea as he'd rather be at T ( don't blame him ), but you need to come up to scotland to see two of your fellow TWHLers urby - you have no excuse not to!

It's me and my immediate boss' office. Other higher-ups have the keys to it, but other people have no reason to go into it. My boss was out for lunch or something.

Yeah, that's a pretty shitty day.

Also, who locks their office during work hours?
Commented 12 years ago2012-07-23 15:21:01 UTC in journal: #7910 Comment #43660
I had a streak of bad luck the other day getting to work. I was like 4 hours late.

Some set up: I don't drive, and I stay at work past the time that the busses stop running. I take my bike with me on the bus in the morning, and bike back home in the evenings.

One day I woke up late. My brother had used up all the hot water before my shower. Also I had an awful taste in my mouth to find out that I was out of tooth-paste. I go grab my bike, and as I head towards the bus stop I see that the bus is driving off without me. I waited outside in the hot shitty weather until the next bus came, but it didn't have a bike rack so I had to wait for the next one. Because the next bus was ~40 mins away I decided to bike to work. About half-way to work my bike chain breaks in such a way that I can't fix it without tools. I didn't figure this out at first, and so I wasted time trying to fix it. I walked my bike home because I didn't want to leave my broken bike at work. By the time I got home the bus had already gone by, and so I had to wait on the bus again. When I finally got on the bus one of the stops had a disabled wheel-chair person at it, and it took forever to get the person inside with the slow chair-lift. After that we hit heavy traffic. Once I finally got to work I decided to take the elevator because my job is on the 6th floor and I just wasn't feeling the stairs. It was really slow, and lots of people got off when it finally got to my floor. Once I was on, a guy that got on with me went down to the first floor (ground-floor is second). When it went back up it stopped at the second floor again, where a random influx of people got on the elevator. They then proceeded to hit every floor button on the way up. After I finally make it to my floor I go to my office door and realize that my brother had taken my keys and not given them back. I had to get someone else in my department to let me in.

That was about a month ago. >_<

tldr; I really need to learn how to drive.

I've had much better quests in my time.

2much just expected me to tell him where everything he lost was, as if he's consulting his own brain to ask, "Hey? Where did I leave this?" And he kept on bitching about it nonstop.

WHAR'S MAH SWORD? WHAR'S MAH SWORD?

[EDIT]
Did anybody realize that I made the warden General Grevious?
DA Dimbark: "What?" he asks sarcastically. "YOUR sword? It's now my sword.. part of my collection."
2muchvideogames: cool
2muchvideogames: sword collectors
DA Dimbark: He coughs.
DA Dimbark: "Malgrove scum.."
2muchvideogames: can i have basic clothes
DA Dimbark: He coughs loudly once more.

Opposite for me. Yesterday felt really good as if luck was on my side. I suddenly had tons of good ideas for my level, the weather was nice and other little things that made the day great.

We all should take a lesson out of Red Dwarf. Odds are I contracted the positive virus whereas you contracted a very bad luck virus.

I feel you for you though :P

I get running nose and sneezing almost every day, adopted to live with it.
My lightbulb died a few days ago and the wire snapped, i needed to replace the whole god damned wire to make it work. Plus my stomach hurt like hell for 3 days straight.

Reading that took 5 minutes. And dimbark first needs to make a story before asking some one to play his quests.

(I'm judging this by the map itself, not comparing it to Valve's original map. New and smoother mapping tools exist now, so the originals have become rather irrelevant.) (EDIT Sorry for the ugly-ass review.)

Texturing
The texturing is pretty bland, and you have a couple of unfitting and repetitive textures, like this one.
User posted image
It looks flat-out nasty, really.

I also found myself in a lot of blandly textures places. You need more details, or anything really.

Lighting
While different parts of the map have different colors, there isn't a lot of contrast. The skybox left a shadow on part of the building that looks unnatural, but that's about it. Some of the lights looked like they were made with pointlights, but they're passable.
User posted image
Ambience
There isn't a lot of ambience that I can recall, but some of your sounds were oddly placed. Like here.
User posted image
It sounded like I was at some sort of hydroelectric generator, and I was pretty sure I was standing right in the middle of the sound. I don't know if you were trying to make the cars sound like that, but it sounded unnatural and it didn't come from the cars.

And that's all I have for this review. I'm giving it 3 stars.

In my last one I threw a big party at my old house and then went on some quest around town while it went on to get more alcohol with some fictional women.

I think it's a sign that I need to go get more alcohol.

All this makes me want to go to Burning Man once. I image it's similar, although at Burning Man people can be naked and everyone does drugs. I imagine I'd just drink a lot and see shows and check out all the cool art exhibits.
