I missed the oppurtunity to meet PB when I was in Australia. There were actually a few people I was supposed to meet in Brisbane, but we ended up not staying there.

If you like headcrabs you should give head to Captain Terror's mom.

What a burn, and nobody will ever even see it!

I hate to break it to you buddy, but video stores are obsolete because of the internet. It seems you'll never fulfill your dream.

Why don't you open a travel agent instead?

How about my basement? We'll have ice cream for dinner.
Just lean on over into the freezer to take it out. Don't mind the rope or knife I'm holding. It's to cut the ice cream. Also don't pay attention to the meat in the freezer. It's pork. I swear.

I keep the human meat in the other freezer.

I'll do Freeman. I'll also dictate all the lyrics for everything, although I'll be in character because I'm a method actor.

I first found out about it from an SMBC comic iirc, in which a woman shows a guy that if he looks through a small hole made with the fingers it improves focusing, and asks him if he can focus on his nose. When he's distracted she steals his equipment.

And I was afraid of the pipe moving CT, so I made a little rig so that it could be clamped firmly without crushing, and so that only about 5-10mm had to be gripped as it also stopped it from pivoting. By the time I figured out how to do the unsanded bit I had also came up with a rig that let me grip it in a similar way, firmly, with a cloth in between the vice and the pipe. So the whole thing is sanded but one end has marks from the vice that are too deep to easily sand out.

If you have to constantly be connected to the EA servers, what happens 5 or 10 years down the line when they decide that not enough people are playing it anymore to keep the service up?

Also, it looks pretty awesome but I don't really have the means to play it. :(

I was going to comment on your first status to see if you made the connection to the Journals but then I realised we have no mutual Facebook friends and you would have no idea who I was and you would get really freaked out.
Also I can't comment on your page anyway.

Was there any heat damage to stuff on the other side of that wall? I could imagine that potentially melting stuff, it could have been very hot.
It's a good thing you're okay anyway.

Never been much of a fan of fruit, but when I lived in Australia we used to pick honeysuckle flowers too. Not much in them, but they were quite nice.
Also, most of the people I knew would sometimes pick up and eat green ants. Never did it myself, but apparently they tasted similar to bitter limes.

Yep. You can sit on it and wash your clothes while watching TV, all while getting some good excercise.

I remember coming up with a great idea for a feature for this but then I forgot about it when I heard the project was cancelled. :(
But one thing that would be good is an option for newly created brushes to be dimensioned relative to the current grid size. As in the fact that when you create a brush, you click and drag in two dimensions, and then Hammer sets the third dimension at 64 units iirc. Gets really annoying when you're zoomed in really far working on complex detailing work and you have to either scroll across to shrink the brush or zoom out until you can see the ends.
And I haven't read the blog post yet, as I am late for something, but I will read it as soon as I get back.

If I were to build one of those I would modify the design to be powered by an old bicycle or something. Sitting on it and only using an up-down motion would be tedious as hell. Plus, if you use a rotating pedal design you could easily set it up to be more resistant to motion, and it would excercise more muscles. Anyway CT, you should build one anyway. Don't be disheartened just because you're not the first, if you can't build the first one then build the best one!

They probably are quite common, but it's a rare night where there aren't any clouds in the way unfortunately.

And while some day I would like to build a valved pulse jet engine and stick it on a remote control plane or something, this one is just a test to see if I can actually build things occasionally rather than just planning them. I've made a spark gap with an electric lighter, but, I need to get some longer wires to be able to ignite it from a distance. In which case I can try using more fuel and see if I can get a beter flame.

Yep, although this one seems to pulse at a high frequency, so it's less of a farting noise and more of a loud roar.

I'm not sure if it's still going, but a few years back there was a scholarship for females doing engineering degrees here where they would get €1000 from the government. I'm not sure if it was per year of degree or once off but I was saddened to hear sex change operations cost a bit more than that. :P

Normally, not including the early times when it was a novelty, I don't drink much. However, at the moment I am drunk. So before I sober up, I should take the time to say, you guys are awesome, and happy new years. Seriously, I love you guys, and I count TWHLer's amongst my IRL friends. Happy New Years, and don't stop being great, my favourite website. Hooray!

Also, fun fact:
Apparently both Frankie Boyle and I have ancestry in the town of Dungloe, Donegal. Since it seems to be a small enough town, and both of our last names are Boyle, we're possibly like 8th cousins or something.
