If the butterfly is in my possession, then it was worth the effort I put forth to capture it at the very least. Otherwise I wouldn't have it. It could be argued that the effort I put forth, alone, justifies my possession of it.

Edit: If your government provided the entire country with a free connection, it would still have to be a slow, cheap one. There just isn't enough money to fund high-speed for everyone, nor is there any need. There never is-- the whole point is to provide just enough to get by, and that's why things like personalized health care are always a better choice if you can afford it. Not to mention you're a lot more susceptible to being arrested for all those illegal things you use the internet for if the government is providing for you.
And you'd still be paying for it, just not up front.

I use to drive a car. I just heard about a bad accident on the news where 4 people died. That could have been me.
I used to cross the street when it was my turn to go. I just heard that someone crossing the street was hit by a drunk driver. That could have been me.
etc. It could always "be me", but the probability is virtually nill, and it wasn't me. And it wouldn't be rational to ever count on it "being me", or I wouldn't ever do anything.

And for the love of god. Stop referring to "Christianity" as "religion", you know better. There are thousands of religions and many of them don't even have gods or an explanation for creation or any of the foundations that Christianity, Islam, and Judaism are built on.
