Well... it's a bunch of cubicles. How appropriate Not much to say, honestly. A decent shot at your first map. You've managed to use custom textures, texlights, and sounds. The brushwork on my avatar shows that you are capable of doing some vertex manipulation. Now use more of it

It gets the job done. Definitely room for improvements. Nice use of texlights and nice small details. As cheesy as they look, wires made from brushes are always nice to see.
You should probably do something about the the wall near the ceiling. It looks awfully boring. A simple trim can make it look ten times better. Sound is always better than no sound, but that wind sounds out of place. It's too loud for an indoor area. Maybe tone it down a bit and throw in some buzzing to accompany your wall-o-computers. Your pillars are also casting shadows on the floor above them, by the way. You should probably get rid of that trigger placeholder outside of the door, since we were told that our respective maps would be self-contained.

Fucking optimize this at least a LITTLE. Combine func_illusionaries instead of having a billion individual ones. Absolutely nothing is nulled off and you could probably null off almost half of the map. At least null the back of those little trees.

"so any illegal drugs must be somehow worse, right?" Yeah, that's completely wrong. Marijuana and shrooms, particularly, have empirical evidence suggesting that they are among the safest drugs in the world. Cigarettes are borderline synthetics, with all the fun potential hazards that are implied by any synthetic drug. I don't want you to take my word for that, but you should look into it and find a better reason. If you prefer to stay pure, that's all good for you, but your argument is totally subjective and any point you make with that mindset can be countered by saying, "But I'm not you."
And for the love of god, do objective research instead of relying on googling "marijuana is bad", because you're going to want to see how these things stack up to what's legal.
Edit: It seems like you have this preconceived notion that the legality of drugs is based solely on potential physical harm, and you have to dismiss that notion.

You didn't answer my question. Why do you draw the line between alcohol and everything else? Why is it that you feel that it's OK to drink, but not OK to smoke tobacco, marijuana, or try hallucinogens?

Yeah, Akira on shrooms probably isn't a good idea. I've wanted to try shrooms for some time, but have had trouble finding a reliable person to get them from. I have a whole plan for a first trip to be sure that all possibilities are accounted for.
Edit: Oh fuck, 4 hours late to this party. Well, I hope you had fun.

Lucid dreams are no fun to me. It's always a treat to see where my head takes me, even if it's terrible, but I can never consciously come up with anything remotely close to what my subconscious seems to do. If I were to ever lose that, I would be very disappoint.
Have some of you really not had any memorable dreams for such a long time, or were these just particularly significant?

I had sex with your mother.
I'll add it tomorrow, but I just caught this right before I decided to go to bed. And it actually will be added tomorrow, not that lazy I'll-do-it-eventually crap.

On the other hand, you won't be doing anything that week that you wouldn't be doing any other week. That is, unless you really plan to spend that whole week doing porn.

A language barrier is nothing to be terrified of. I took a vacation to Acapulco, Mexico with my family back during middle school and we didn't know a lick of Spanish. We didn't have any problems that week.
I say go for it. A week alone is nothing special, and you're getting a multi-thousand dollar trip for free.
And really, if you absolutely have to talk to someone, clever use of hand gestures and body language can get simple messages across.

Bill Gates's real name is Harold Windorson. He goes by Bill Gates to not be confused with his operating system, and because he believes Microsoft is a gateway to Heaven.

This is such an awesome project
DiscoStu's room was so great The disco ball was also a really, really well executed.
Overall, the same performance issues that plagued the project since the beginning are still here, but I refuse to give anything but 5 stars because Rooms is a defining project for TWHL's community. And it turned out EXCELLENT.

Sherlock Holmes should be judged on it's own merits because it wasn't intended to be faithful to the "true" Sherlock Holmes. At least, that's what I keep hearing.
Anyway, rebooting the Spiderman franchise with new actors? LLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLL

Purely speculative, of course.

Road Runner averages 45 USD per month, and that's arguably the best ISP out there.
I hope you're not paying too much.
Does your wife really not know who the G-Man is?
Edit: Whoops that was Strider.
