I remeber back in the days of playing the origonal HL through the first time, Ah those were good days.There was one thing i loved doing, I used to get as many security gaurds and scientists as i could find gathered them and put them in places where the security gaurds could protect (on the outer rim of it) and the scientists in the middle. Then i would wait and wait for some alien slaves or zombies to come along. But they never did.I'm the kind of person who would rather protect a scientist than kill him(Yes sounds a bit wierd I know)Thats what i hate about some people who play Sven coop, They always have to kill them because its fun (well i don't think it is). Thats why i came here, all i wanted to do was make a few rooms and put some barneys and scientists in and lead them around and make them look like they are doing something.Havent had much to map anything of lately i need some inspireation, but it would seem that there is none to be found :(.

I'm still waiting for an update on muzzleflash's Uplink extended. Thats whats going to inspire me because what ive seen so far is awsome.

Not long now till Christmas and my compo map is going um well actually. Getting a bit bored of working on it but I know the end result will please some people especially Hunter so that keeps me going.

I fear I might not finish the whole idea planned but i'll still submit whats been made and hope for the best and finish it off for the public.

On a side note I just got cough Quake 4 and I must say it is as Zombieloffe said "Like Doom 3 with Speed".
Very fast paced and the indoor level design is great, can't say the same about the outdoors because they used 2D images as a distant background but it looks really bad.

Still I enjoy gameplay more than looks and so far it has entertained me and the sudden change in the plot ahem new legs...has angered me and now i'm having my revenge on the enemies...In other words i'm thinking what the player would think :S

School is over now even though I was ill so that didn't effect me...Had the mumps which is a virus that tries to attack the testicle area and then attaches itself to your thorat where it swells your glands. So you look like a Chipmunk...or a hamster:

begining to realise that most of the maps i'm vorking on todate will likely never see the light of day, that is get released online. However they'll be a blast on a lan party! :cool:

Hi, I'm DarkAngel, otherwise known as Samantha. I founded my interests in level design through my brother. I once saw him mapping, and became interested. He no longer maps, but I do!

I once caught him wanking! I was quite surprised to see Counter-Strike on his screen at the time, too, as you can imagine. Sick bastard. Oh well, I still love him!

ULTIMATE R_SPEED CATALYST!

Here's how it works:

You don't need anything else besides the batch compiler. You don't need to know about hints or any of that. First, in the BSP (or csg, one of these) tab of the compiler, there is a setting called "MAX NODE SIZE" or something like that. enable it and change the value to it's minimum, which is 64. Combine this with a FULL-VIS compile. You might not notice it, but pretty much EVERYTHING you don't see gets automatically cut away. Even the backsides of pillars and smaller objects, sometimes. I tried this with some of the more harshly-made maps of mine, and can cut over 900 wpoly's from the count very easily. The best part, no extra work with hints. It's Automatic and optimized perfectly.

If you want to hint areas to cut the poly's down by a little more, you certainly can. But be warned that this can misload sections and cost you.

The HL Engine, once again, is even more powerful than we all think.

I started my own website a few weeks back it is a web hosting site. I took me 2 weeks to complete it. If that is how long it took me it must of taken much longer to create TWHL. I take my anti-brain reading helmet off to the creators. ;)
