You guys have just said a bunch of things, and again, did not base them on anything.
First of all, not, the bible does not say you can own slaves. Find me a passage in the bible that does, and I will believe otherwise.
Second, to put it bluntly, yes, he is very forgiving considering our subborn nature. What if you had a dog that would disobey you at every moment? What if it bit you and tore you down? Would you keep it? I doubt you would for very long, but god has chosen to keep us for as long as we have existed. He has endured hundreds of years of hate and stupidity, and has never looked back and thought that our creation was a bad idea.
Thirdly, have you acuatly looked at people's moral compasses? Would you not agree with me that everyone makes dumb choices. Some of them are dreadfully short of common sence. What makes you so much better than everyone else, that you can trust your compass to noot screw up? Don't trust in yourself, trust in God. His stance has never changed, and the prove of that is in the Bible.
Fourth, I also fear God. Why, because he is so much more powerful than I. I do not fear that he will harm me, but I respect him greatly.
