In an interview, Newell said they'd have it to Vivendi by August. (Provided no more hackers come along). VALVe is probably finishing up things, doing box artwork, those little pre-release things. I doubt they would re-vamp the graphics engine, that would take way too long and be pointless for a game that has come this far.

After HL2, I suppose VALVe will work on Steam, as from what I can tell, they plan to license it to businesses for their programs, and they'll probably develop patches and levels and such for HL2 and CS2. They might possibly work with Gearbox to develop (hopefully) OpFor2 and BlueShift2, and after that, probably start work on a new game/game engine, or some development tools.

If in one of the rounds, you suddenly lose your money and weapon, I think it's a game error. I've had the same thing happen to me before. It might be due to lag, what's your connection speed?

What good games does Xbox have that you cannot get on the PS2 or the computer? Halo was the only real reason most people own an Xbox...once it came out for PC, most of my Xbox playing friends sold theirs.

I think splash.bmp is the image that shows in the console BG, or the little 'Loading....' image. You could open your PAK and see if it's in there. If it is, copy it into the GFX folder in Valve or TFC.

You can load the pointfile in HL too. Just run the game with -dev -particles 80000 +sv_cheats 1, then open the console and type pointfile. Then noclip and follow the line.

And Ministeve is right, this should be in General Mapping Q's.

Thanks :) . I fixed the images that were broken, and re-lighted a few things. I can just take out the surface area and have the player start in the elevator instead, we can recycle the entrance for something later on. Through the next security door we get into the complete labs, I just haven't finished or compiled again so I havent' screenshotted them.

I think they have to be 256x256 TGA images, named skydn, skyup, skybk, skyft, skylt, skyrt. Sky being your skyname. Check teh GFX/ENV folder in the GCF, they're named correctly in there.

Meh. I play HLDM and Natural-Selection, both very very excellent games. I don't like to have to spend hours looking for n00b free servers.

And I don't see the deal with DoD. If you want WWII multiplayer, play Battlefield 1942.

They look huge, but on closer inspection it's coz they have the same texture as the road or something close, and they sort of blend together. Consider a trim texture on the curb?

Hmm...a Google search returned results that that error in Half-Life engine games is caused by not having the latest update. Make sure your version of Spirit is designed for WON use, and not a steam version, if they even have an update for both...havent checked forever.

PlanetFortress claims that renaming client.dll to client.dll.bak fixes the problem in TFC, maybe it works in Spirit and other mods as well?

p_thing.mdl ->weapon that other players see
v_thing.mdl -> weapon that you see (left hand)
v_thing_r.mdl ->weapon that you see (right hand)
w_thing.mdl ->weapon that everybody see on the ground (there are no weaons on the ground in tfc.)

p_ : Player weapon model (what you hold when another player sees you)
v_ : View model

Make individual brushes instead of carving a hole. When you start, it seems stupid and time-consuming, but once you've started doing it, it's just as fast as carving, and produces better results.

If you have a huge, outdoor map, or just big period, it might be due to that. Did you happen to use carve or hollow on the circle? Hint brushes may help, but I need to see a screenie to say anything for sure.
