No, not yet. There are a lot of bugs in x64. Most printers wont work with it. Some games are not compatible (most major titles are). HL2 automatically detects 64bit but I can't tell any difference.
I will probably buy Vista when it comes out and hopefully it will be more compatible.
When they start making applications that are designed for 64 bit it will probably make a bigger difference.
Thanks for the tip. There are other people having this problem. I was just on a valve forum and a developer said there is a compatability problem with x64 and they will release a fix as soon as they can.
Anyone remember me? It has been a while since I've been here. Most of my previous posts have been while I was at work. Now I have a new job and I don't have access anymore.
Anyway... my problem is that after the last update in January (I think) Hammer wont start up anymore. I have tried reloading the SDK content but that didn't work. When I try to start Source SDK it says it's loading and then the loading screen goes away and it doesn't start. Anyone else have the same problem? Anyone have any ideas? I would rather not completely reinstall Half-life because I'm not sure I still have all the discs.
What i wonder is how many people in cs are cheating and how many of them are just good. sometimes its hard for me to tell. if someone has perfect aim and they shoot in small bursts it can be hard to catch them in the act.
I have a story that will make you go Hmmm. This just happened last week and it?s the craziest thing I have ever heard. My wife?s grandma is old and has dementia and she has a friend that is not really that old but sort of slow and is new to the area. Anyway the 2 of them went on a ten minute drive into town to pick up grandmas dog and stop at the grocery store. They left at 1:00pm and we expected them back in about 2 hours. But after about 6 hours they still weren?t home yet, and we were getting pretty worried. So we went over to their house to see what we could find. We found their cell phone with about 15 missed calls on it from us. That means that they are out somewhere without their cell phone. By about 11pm we started calling about 3 or 4 police stations in the area to see if there were any accidents, and there were none. At about 11:30 they finally decide to call us and say they are lost just driving around. We asked them were they were and they said they have been to Cincinnati but now they have ended up in Columbus Ohio, which is about a 2 hour drive from us. So my wife?s dad gives them very specific instructions about how to follow the interstate to our exit. One thing for you need to realize is that there is only one interstate between Columbus and Eaton (where we live), very simple. So he drives up to the gas station to wait for them by the interstate so he can lead them home when they get there. He waits there half the night and they never show up. At this point my wife?s sister goes into labor and has a baby, and there were complications after the delivery and they were going to have to do emergency surgery. We hear from grandma the next morning and apparently they missed the exit (or never got there, who knows). They are out of money and they slept in a Kroger parking lot overnight. Grandma has to take blood pressure medicine 3 times a day and by this time she has been without it for 24 hours, and they are in Nashville Tennessee (that?s 6.5 hours from home). We wire them money and tell them that they need to call us every hour our two to give us updates and so we can check their progress. We all call into work and spend the day in the hospital with the new baby to make sure everything is going well. Those 2 ladies on the road trip decided to ignore the orders we gave them about calling every hour. At this point they have been gone for 30 hrs and we haven?t heard from them all day. We call the police to file a missing persons report and maybe have the lady arrested for grandma-napping. Anything to get them home. Finally late that night after being gone for 35 hours and driving through 4 states we get a call saying that they are home and I guess they were both having some sort of break down or something. Anyway they both ended up safe, but they had the dog with them the whole time and it crapped in grandma?s lap and grandma peed in the seat while riding in the car. What gets me is the shear stupidity of the whole situation. You would think that if they saw a sign that says welcome to Kentucky they wouldn?t cross it, but I guess not.
I have a friend who just got hl2 and we wanted to play cs together, but the problem is I cant add him to my friends list. He has already added me, but when I try to log on to my friends list it just says "Connecting" forever. Any ideas?
It got me at first untill the updates didnt install. I didnt see the update window untill yesterday so it didnt occur to me that it was a joke at first.
Here is a fact. The number of hunting related accidents compared to the number of hunters is very small. So small in fact that hunting is one of the safest sports out there... even safer than ping pong. Its true! The only problem is that hunting accidents are most likely more serious.
I know many people with guns, And by far the majority of them are target shooters and not hunters. Personaly I dont have a problem with hunting as long as you eat what you kill.
I have read about a dozen Steven King books and he is one of my favorite authors. Right now I'm reading a book of short stories by some guy named Lovecraft. I'm not sure but I think he did most of his work in the early 1900s. Many people think that he one of the top horror writers ever. I am also reading Calculus for dummies.
The Da vinci code is a great book. I do have the Elegant universe and I will probably read that next. I would like to read the Grapes of Wrath but im not sure I have the patience for it.
glocks are cool. I just bought a gun about a month ago. its a springfield XD 40 that has a 4" barrel and 2 ten round clips. ive shot about 140 rounds so far. next i either want a 12 gage or a 357.
I agree with Kasperg up there where he talks about what type of games are good on different platforms. Some games are better on console, some are better on PC
Did you know that if you rubbed tooth paste on CDs it will fix the scratches. Apperently tooth paste has just the right amount of abrasiveness to take out the scratches. I used it on my D2 cd which was in very bad shape and it fixed it. I had to rub pretty hard but it worked.

Maybe you could put triggers along the way randomly as you are climbing along so that when you went through them it would cause it to move. but this way if the player stood still it wouldnt move at all.
After a while the people who suspected the conspiracy were killed in strange, seemingly unrelated accidents. After that no one questioned the website anymore.
