I have never heard of that, last week I bought an XfX Geforce 8800GT 512mb ram, 620mhz core. Runs everything like a dream (except that damn crysis game, only gets 25fps with everything maxed)...but if they upped the GTS, it will be hard to find one, everyone will sell the old ones first.
Anyways, about the PSU, I have a 420watt Antec, and it runs everything awesome. I was worried about wattage, however if you dont buy a crappy one, your good to go, what matters for video cards is the AMPS anyways. I've got a Pentium D 3.2ghz, 1 Sata HD, 2 DVD Drives, and the extra plug for the mobo/video card.
The flashlight is deadly, I went in and played, without flashlight, on high, 2xaa, 1280x1024 = 45fps, turned the flashlight on, instantly dropped to 25fps.
Man and I thought that the grav gun was low-res on highest...
Your problem is the new aspects of the Source engine used, if you notice, fire looks better. However the main aspect would be the dynamic flashlight/lighting that has more realistic shadows, the flashlight is bad because it casts shadows on everything that it points at.
Anyways, the 6200 would be whats slowing you down in the end. Its odd that you still get the same fps with everything on low though.
This just hit me yesterday, awaiting the release of Portal, which is going to be an awesome game. But I think that this game may re-kindle my mapping pass-time, being able to make awesome puzzles for Portal will be really fun, Im already coming up with ideas.
I think I might enter this one (havn't mapped in about 7 months tho, but I got a month) , but I need your guys opinion. Should I make it single or multi-player?
All you guys say you wont go to Vista, and go to Linux. Cheers, Im happy for ya, I'll stick with XP for awhile. However when DX10 games come out, Ill be changing to Vista, as it'll be time, DX10 is a main vista thing hey? Once Nvidia gets their drivers straightened out Ill not have a problem with it. But I can see the performance hit now, and I've experienced it on another HD...it likes its ram, but I have 4gb to spare...but really, Ill go back to it being a useless but inevitable upgrade...XP will stop being supported, and Linux wont play DX10 games I'm guessing...unless the Open Source wizards can whip something up
DX10 pfft...there arnt any games out that use it yet anyways....and until it stops hogging memory (I have 4 gigs but meh) and they get the drivers straight I see no reason to get it yet..
It all depends on how the server is configured, php can have some holes in the programming, but if you program it correctly its perfectly secure, look at all the applications that have been programmed in PHP (Invision Powerboard for one).
Runs fine (tested on another hd), 400mb of ram, but thats the way things are going, when in a game it seems to drop off as I didnt loose any performance though.
Place: http://www.zenomgt.com/forums/ Time: Permanent (user so I can visit as guest) Reason: This may be long...after getting the forums going (I being one of the original, sorta) the owner of the site SOLD us all to some new loser. A few of us got mad and said some stuff, then they banned a guy, so I went to tell them that if you banning us then take our tutorials off it, cause we dont want them on it. So he banned me too...I dont go back there, we started our own forums at http://www.shaips.net
Place: BF2 Server/Css Server (ALOT OF THEM) Time: Perm Reason: Going in with fellow clan buddies to cause havock, tking like mad, pissing admins off etc...
Hmm...so have zombies vs humans, and you can join either side, then try to take over the world?? Zombies work together, humans work together...I like it
Im thinkin about something like a futuristic space colony type thing, where you expand your colony, build ships, and take over others...but its just an idea for now
Hey Tetsu, I run a CS:S server for my clan. There is no amx mod to my knowledge, there is a handy admin mod called 'mani'. With this you can make admins that can kick/slay/slap/blind/teleport etc...
You can also give yourself alot of health if you want..
You've not seen hot till you've seen my pc, idle its at 48C now, but when gaming it gets to 64C and playing for a whole day will cause a restart..I put a new case fan in the side pannel (mod ftw!) and it has lowered the temp by about 2-3C...
Anyways, if its not your temp, then maybe a program is malfunctioning, perhaps your browser?
now now, I can see his problem, fraps doesnt always like to work well, and can be annoying at times. This time its probably his pc but really, it needs a whole wack of fixes and user customization as Jobabob said..
