Played the L4D2 demo today at a friend's house. Seems like a good game, new weapons, infected, refreshing daytime maps.
Should be DLC though, or at least have people who own L4D1 get a big discount.
Also, most of the regulars on the TWHL group got friend invites, so check your comunity tab. If I missed anyone who wants to be on my friends list, just send an invite my way. I still check it on web steam every so often.

Now to get highspeed at my place...

So I came to a decision today, that I'm going to sell my two 9600GT's and buy two of these instead;

http://bfgtech.com/bfgrgtx2852048oce.aspx

it would be a big jump, and the cost is fairly cheep considering..

I just got a new copy of cpu magazine and its ranked as the 3rd High end video card, magazine says its 349.99 then it goes to 559.99 and then to 709.99, so I think they'll be a pretty good buy.. even though I never seen any reviews one these, (searched youtupe and googled it) I think they'll blow anything out of the water, especially with two... ...only if it offers sli... think I'll go check that now actually...

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony

Let me start by saying, if you were smart enough to purchase your copy for GTA4 for 360, you deserve a cookie.

Like the previous expansion, exclusive only to the Xbox 360, Rockstar gives us a new playable character, with his own personality, his own story, and even his own "style" (animations, unique from Johnny, who was unique from Niko).
Again, like the previous expansion, we get a butt-load of new guns, almost all VERY cool. The auto-shotty was amazing on its own, but with the option for exploding shells? Just yes. The advanced sniper is just better than the rest were, hands down. The new smg is great, where as the gold uzi is the same, just gold. The machine gun, which will replace your assault rifle slot, is nothing to brag home about sadly, it just lasts long on ammo. Finally, the sticky explosives were and are the best part. Especially in passing the time. Tossing stickies on passing vehicles for a nasty surprise?

Cars, I'm so glad it wasn't new bikes, to be honest, as nice as the bikes were, I wasn't in to muscle bikes. The Bullet GT is just gorgeous, and takes the cake as the new most "competitive" car in the game.

Parachute... a novelty item. It's fun to mess around with, but base jumping isn't all it's cracked up to be, not to mention it's hard as hell!

Club activities are once again, a mere novelty. Something to do when you're bored. There are various other activities around the city, like the fight cages and drug wars, I won't go into detail.

The actual story itself was pretty entertaining, and at times a bit unpredictable. Certainly the best new character is Yusef. Also, it will once again tie into the original GTA4 storyline a bit, but this time MUCH more than the previous did. It was well written, but nothing more than any other Rockstar title. A new feature they included with TBoGT is replay. Once you've completed the game, you can access ALL the missions again from your cellphone, and you get percentage ratings based on criteria you will see at the end of the mission.

Once again, just like in TLaD, you have the option to call one of two friends, one who will supply you with a van including the new guns in the game (and a parachute), and one who will deliver you almost any of the new cars, and a Cavalcade FXT (the truck version).

All in all, this expansion is a great buy, running 10 hours of storyline gameplay, not including the countless hours doing various things around the city, and costs only $20. Better than spending $50-60 on any other game which will net you maybe 4-12 hours of gameplay depending.

If you have a 360, and have not played this, buy it now. If you have a 360, but have GTA4 on PC or PS3, have no fear, Rockstar released an independent game titled "Episodes From Liberty City" which includes "The Lost and Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and DOES NOT require the original GTA4 to play.

I tend to forget about journals. I'm bored so I decided to post my first one. Will it be ever read?

A philosophical observation
Here I was last night, very tired after a long day of homework, when I opened Google Earth. Not knowing what to do, I just navigated my way to a friend's workplace, and just for the hell of it, I clicked on the toolbar button that simulates sunlight. I moved the slider back to see at what time the sun had set, and... the whole building was gone, a large swamp was in its place. "What? Your workplace wasn't here this morning?"

It turns out I had clicked the button next to the daylight one - Historical imagery. I was looking at the same place, sometime in 1994. Not quite this morning. I navigated back to her house, but... her house wasn't there in 1994 either. Nor any others around it. Or the streets. Another nice, large swamp was there with only a few metres of dirt tracks coming in from the main road.

At this point I couldn't help but remember Back To The Future, when Marty finds himself in 1955 and the street where he lives doesn't even exist yet. But then another feeling filled my insides. A very unique feeling of emptiness, along with the realisation that along with the things that come and go over time, we ourselves are subject to the passing of time. What we were, what we are now, and what we will be, will pass by just like this forgotten patch of land turned into a nice set of streets and houses and who knows what it will become in the future.

Will we ever be able, by knowing what there was before and what there is now, to project and figure out what there will be later? There's no way to know.

Here, it also applies to the Rooms project. A (beta) version was compiled with my unfinished room in it. A snapshot of a past time, it will eventually be replaced by a final version with the finished room(s) in it, leaving the "in-progress" versions a memory of what once was.

I always wanted to write something philosophical-ish. Some people call me a sentimental. I'm just this nostalgic stupid.

About 5 years ago, I used to work at this huge furniture warehouse in Pennsylvania. At times, I operated a forklift moving around heavy stuff. In the 2 years working there, I only had one minor accident with the forklift, I accidentally punctured a box I was trying to grab, but the item inside never got damaged, so I lucked out on that one.

Now, after watching this news video of a major forklift/warehouse accident, I count my blessings thanking it was not me: http://www.foxnews.com/video/index.html?playerId=011008&streamingFormat=FLASH&referralObject=11326218&referralPlaylistId=playlist

EA's Left 4 Dead 2 Event

'This is the building where it took place.'

Last week I was invited to the Left 4 Dead 2 event in London which was created to promote Valve's new sequel to Left 4 Dead 1.

It was very entertaining because we were trained to hit "infected" mannequins with weapons related to the game such as baseball bats, frying pans and assault rifles (although we didn't get to shoot them).

There were also food rations and a corner where you could get your face painted to look like an "infected" from the game. (Obviously I opted to look like a Hunter since I was wearing a hoody).

'Infected face paint at its best.'

After hitting the mannequins around and getting our faces painted, we went down to the basement where they had set up four Xbox 360's to playtest the game.

'The gamers' basement.'

The version we played was an early test build that had a few glitches but other than that it was playable and I had a good time playing it. (The EA guy behind me was calling us hardcore because we got to the safe room at the end of the demo although I'm pretty sure it was because Director felt sorry for the people who played before us).

As an owner of the first game on the PC platform I already knew how to play the game so it was easy to pick up. I was very surprised at how good it was to aim with the Xbox 360 controller as my past experiences with FPS games on consoles have been difficult to aim with.

Left 4 Dead 2 is very similar to its prequel except that it is vastly improved with new enemies, weapons, characters, campaigns and an updated director AI which makes the gameplay different depending on how well the player is doing.

I feel that the large amount of game content justifies the price tag; however I still believe that it is too early to release a sequel especially since there are hardly any custom campaigns for the original game.

Lastly I was very excited to meet Valve's Chet Faliszek who shook my hand (still haven't washed them) but unfortunately my camera man was upstairs getting a beer and Chet disappeared as soon as I turned my back. I wanted to ask him about Half Life 2 Episode 3 and try to pry some facts out of him, oh well.

Overall my friend and I had a fantastic time and it was an honour attending. I just hope the next event I go to involves hitting something with a frying pan because that was the best part of the night!

Below are more pictures taken at the event which includes my friend who hit the mannequins so hard that a cricket bat splintered and flesh flew past people's heads. Scary.

Just reformatted my Vista partition and replaced it with Windows 7. So far so good in terms of performance (over vista) and it can now boot up from sleep mode, unlike my vista which hung at a blank screen ~ weird. Only problem I have right now is that ESET Smart Security is having compatibility problems and I don't think it's running properly (hence the compatibility problem).

So to continue the recent trend, I most likely have the flu of the pigs. Fun times. But not as bad as the news media likes to make it, don't see what the big deal is. Flu is flu. Sucks, but nothing to panic over.

As many of you already posted, I feel bad too. I caught a cold. But my mom felt horrible the other days, so I might caught it from her.

Oh, I measured myself today to see how taller than 1 year ago ( when I had 1,84 m) I am. I'm now 1,9 :D. I drink a lot of milk :D

I have a cold. It started with my throat feeling like it has tons of needles stuck in it. I take it you all know how that feels when you swallow.

That was three days ago, and it's pretty much gone and over, but now i have a cold. Im coughing and sneezing a lot, but I still have my appetite.
Im going to have a long hot bath soon, my mom told me it'll make me feel better.

Funny detail: when i cough, i sound just like a Smoker. Wut?
