Go for it with the sweet potato fries and keep up the water intake. If you ever really need some kind of chocolate, just make it a protein bar. :]

Woah woah woah, who said cut carbs out? You need carbs to have the energy to work out, just don't go overboard with them. You can get them from vegetables and sweet potatoes. All I am saying is drink a lot of water, avoid grains and limit your dairy. Try it out, and if it doesn't work for you, at least you tried. I bet most people that go 100% strict cold turkey will crumble after a while and ruin everything. You need to find what works for you without killing yourself and being unhappy.

Striker, I completely cut out milk and would RARELY have a little shredded cheese with my own seasoned hamburger meat. No grains at all which includes bread, pasta, rice etc. I pretty much ate grilled chicken, tomatoes and sweet potatoes everyday. Even with sweet potatoes you have to be careful because there's a lot of starch in them. I never got my body fat checked so I am making a safe bet at 7-8%, probably being 7.

Tetsuo, the only way you are going to lose the stomach is through diet. Everyone is different, yes, but doing 1000 crunches a day won't help anyone who is eating a surplus of calories a day. You need to eat as clean as possible and eat less than you usually would. I never needed to intermittent fast, and personally don't recommend it, and I don't do cardio (although 2 hours of heavy lifting burns a decent amount of calories.) It's all about the diet, unfortunately. Try eating more often throughout the day but much smaller portions.

That's incredible! I love hearing success stories, in fact, my goal is to become a fitness model and nutrition/fitness coach. I would like to get famous on youtube or instagram so I can reach out and help as many people as possible.

I was strict paleo (besides supplements) for 5 months to look good for the summer. I would guess around 7-8% body fat. Right now, I am eating a ridiculous amount of calories a day to get huge just to starve myself again next summer. Don't know why I love it, but I do. If you want any advice, I can try to help you out.

I wake up every morning around 4 or 5 and go to the gym for 2-3 hours of heavy lifting before work. I do this 7 days a week and only miss a day if I am physically unable to move due to tightness/soreness. I take way too many supplements and almost everyone I am close with has complained that I am overdoing it. I know I am overdoing it, but it is one of the few things that makes me happy.

Also, I have been on this site almost everyday since I joined 10 years ago, but rarely post anything.

Haha, thanks. I got a gorilla suit a few years ago and randomly thought I could use it to be Robin Williams. Someone dressed up as a banana at the party I went to, so if I went as the gorilla it still would have worked out.

I dressed up like Robin Williams. This picture doesn't show the mask off too nicely because of the angle, but from the front, it looks much better.

1. I haven't tried it in source but it works in goldsrc so give it a try. Make an invisible door a little higher than a player and a trigger_multiple under it. Have the trigger multiple make the func_door direction move down on touch and set the damage if blocked to -999 or however much. Trigger_hurts only heal when set to negative damage.

Just made my l4d2 campaign into a .vpk and everything seems to work except when I create a lobby and browse for my campaign it says "Some installed Addons do not support Campaign mode" written over my campaign name. Any ideas? Like i said, it seems to run fine, but that's annoying to see.

I made this for a typography project in art. The original was done on paper with sharpie markers and took forever. I remade it on the comp in flash in a fraction of the time. The letter I used is an Old English J, and everything seen in this picture is made out of that J besides the black background.

The drivers worked fine before the crash. None of my files or programs were changed and I even tried reinstalling the drivers from the cd I use every time I reformat. Yea the connection I want shows up in device manager with a yellow exclamation point next to it. I've tried disabling and uninstalling it then rebooting but the yellow ! remains.

I got a new power supply and the computer actually turned on. However, it gets stuck at the initial screen where it gives the computer specs. Sometimes it says press delete for setup and sometimes it recognizes the hard drive and says OK then gets stuck there. Another problem is I can't use my keyboard. When I connect it the lights blink once then it just doesn't work. I tried booting from an XP cd but it continues to stay at the screen with the computer specs. :[

I understand that Penguinboy, but I was asking why would my computer completely shut off while playing l4d if the problem was just the case cable coming loose? Can that single cable actually mess with the whole system if it became unplugged while the computer was on?

Ok I tried the green wire with all of the different black ones and the psu wouldn't run. The only paperclips I had are painted like candy canes but I scraped the paint off with a pocketknife. I will honestly be relieved if the power supply just randomly died and buying a new one will fix everything. I am going to try and access a working one before I order a new one.

Thanks for the interesting tip srry. If anyone else has different ways to troubleshoot I am all ears.

in my comp died and won't respawn Post #267508
The ram sticks are brand new and if they were the problem I am pretty sure the computer would turn on and I just wouldn't receive a video response on the monitor.

When I have it plugged in and I put the ethernet cable in a little green light turns on next to it. Maybe the power supply is just about dead but has enough juice to light this green light? This green light is the only thing that responds at all.

I checked all of the wires and none of them look fried. Why would the computer completely shut down if the case button connector was the problem?

I don't have another comp to troubleshoot other parts, so hopefully I can get a friend to help.

srry I am not exactly sure what cable you are talking about to perform that test. The only green wire I see is inside of the power supply which is attached to the 3 pronged outlet plug thingy.

Thanks for all of the replies though. I honestly appreciate them.

in my comp died and won't respawn Post #267446
I was playing a rousing game of left 4 dead with my friend and my computer randomly shut off. The tank hit me pretty hard with that concrete slab, but I don't think he knocked anything loose. At first I thought a fuse in my house blew, but then I realized my monitor was still on. Now my computer won't turn back on at all.

When I plug my ethernet I can see the little green light next to it turn on, so I don't think it's a problem with the power supply. I tried a different outlet that is on a different circuit in my house, so I don't think there's a problem with the cable wire or any outlets.

I recently upgraded my comp's ram and gcard, so I put the old hardware back in but still no luck.

I reset the motherboard's cmos but still nothing.

I really don't have any knowledge with computers, so I ran out of ways to troubleshoot. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions on what might be the problem?

I think you made the right decision satchmo.

potatis_invalid I have a question for you. You said,
I ignore people who say 'there is a God' and I ignore people who say 'there is no God'. I mean, there is no solid evidence.
I understand that you want people to say "believe" because none of this is absolutely certain, but I don't understand the idea of not having evidence that God doesn't exist. What does that even mean? So would people be wrong if they said there are no unicorns or there is no such thing as healthy, good tasting bacon? (These are just silly examples AND DON'T SAY TURKEY BACON, but I would like to know more about what you said.)

in Kid kills parents over Halo 3 Post #260115
I honestly believe this has nothing to do with the actual video game... It's more along the lines of this kid had something he really wanted taken away. If he was a musician and his father took away his guitar he probably would have done the same thing. All I'm trying to say is this story will lead to video games getting bashed once again when it might actually not have anything to do with them. Does anyone agree with me?
