in Large BSP when compiled Post #288376
It's possible that you're including some wads, like Striker said, or that you're using different compile tools than Skals.
I'm not sure how big of a difference different tools would make, however.

Tone down your specular map/tint, move your cubemap to a darker spot, or brighten up your room.
Cubemap reflections don't become brighter or darker according to how much light is actually on the face (just like in real life, of course).

Besides, 2012 cant come then. The bible said it would come like a thief in the night, and we're all expecting this.
Don't start up your shit, people. I know someone wants to say something.

How is Romania already 31 hours into the new year? Here it's still mid-day, December 30th. Time zones can't possibly put you 3 days ahead, what's the deal?

I'm not sure what the problem is, either.
If you want more depth, you can change the height map scale from the default value of 2 after picking an image to import.

I just started DJ Hero 2 yesterday.
It's fun as hell. Most of the mixes work out really, really well, even if there's some tracks that I just can't stand (they included Soulja Boy...) but that's always the case in games like this. The general selection is also more mainstream than I would have liked, but hey.
The Prodigy's "Firestarter" remix is just awful, though.

I don't have a web plan, though, so my phone's browser doesn't see much use.

Despicable Me

It was more kiddy-friendly than I'd hoped, with very little appeal for an older audience (think about how Pixar movies are done, people). A lot of the jokes were just rehashes of overused kiddy humor, so the dialogue was largely disappointing. Character development was also lacking.
But it struck gold on cuteness and clever use of spontaneity.

Meh, not quite as good as I'd hoped but still a fun movie.

I would think keyloggers and other subtle spyware are the things to be wary of.

Either way, I'd smoke you all. 2x Quad Core Intel Xeon processors.
And how was it?
Unless (a) core(s) is/are malfunctioning, the speed of the cores in almost all multi-core processors are the same...
All righty, maybe I didn't really think that post all the way through. Something just doesn't sit well with not using both cores when both are readily available, but then I guess calculating pi is a really simple process at the same time.

And it shows the speed of a core Luke, which is important.
But it's not as important as showing the speed of 2 or more, and that's the real problem.

In this age, single-core CPUs are mostly artifacts from the stone age among anyone who even knows what a CPU does.

That's crap, it only utilizes 1 core. And if it's a multithreaded core, it only uses part of the pseudo second core.

Don't be fooled by brand names or fancy designs.
Unless you're looking for some eye candy at the same time. Why else would someone be looking at Skullcandy, eh? :P
There's no shame in basing part of your decision on how good something looks :)
It's thinner than tracing paper, and has no resilience at all.
I think I know exactly what you're talking about. It's sort of spray applied right on the cushion instead of being a separate layer that's laid on top of the padding.

Please. I'm not speaking from personal experience, but I have only seen almost exclusively negative reviews about Skullcandy. Mostly, they're about how fragile the headphones are, not necessarily how bad the sound quality is, and how overpriced they tend to be.

I use a pair of Sennheiser HD205s, and they're easily the best headphones I've had the pleasure of using to date, but they're also generally regarded by others as exceptionally tight. Behind these, I've also used the Sennheiser HD202, Plantronics Audio .360, Razer Moray, and two pairs of Sony headphones that I can't remember. So I've never used a particularly expensive pair.
Strictly from reviews, the general consensus is that the Sennheiser HD202 is the best all-around buy.
I've heard insanely postive reviews about the JVC HA-RX700, but they're also colossal which might turn you away. I'd still like to have a pair of my own, but I'm just waiting until I can afford a legendary Audio Technica ATH-A700.

I'm by no means an "audiophile".

Edit: The best advice I think I can give would be to be very careful about what you're going to buy, and look into a lot of possible headphones. Browse Newegg's selection, and look around Amazon for more products by brands that you saw on Newegg. These are hopefully going to be something that you feel comfortable using for at least a year, after all.

Also, I hate all of the new ideas that have been presented so far, and I'm not clever enough to offer any of my own. I wanted to say map a movie, but OH WAIT. >:C

Edit: Seeing competitions like Scipted! and Laser Fun make me sort of want some kind of emphasis on entities instead of fancy brushwork. Destructification fits the bill, along with a million other possible things.
Also, what was up with Transport Hub? Why did that fail?

Hell no. I think those are great. Now, "map a trashed apartment building with no working lights or water in a post-apocalyptic setting" would be too specific.

I like abandoned hospital, leaves plenty of barriers to make it a contest, but plenty of room for creativity to flow.
I also like the idea of a post-apocalyptic/post-nuclear city or so.
The problem with them is that it's just "map this environment better than everyone else". It's boring; it doesn't reward true creativity.
Who the hell wants to take part in a competition where they know that every other contestant is building exactly the same thing? This is one of the reasons why the last competition was "map a dream" and not "map a nightmare".

Edit: I guess I should ask: why do you feel something like "map an abandoned hospital" is a good idea? What are all the pros you see in it?
