I am not telling you to give up, I am just saying, you need some real content, you should write a detailed plot, art concepts are always great, a really nice demo level, things like these.
Holy shit, thanks Strideh, german isn't a problem, I study the language anyway. Also thanks alex, I think I am the one who is going to have to be making the artists impressions though.
I might try and get some sketches up when I actually do them
I have a small request. For school work, my design class, I am doing a folio based on architecture in which I am suppose to design some sort of gallery building.
Of course, gathering inspiration and displaying it through my own developed ideas is necessary for the best mark possible.
I am sure a few of you have probably done this sort of work before, anyway, I am asking for any buildings you may know of that you would refer to as master pieces.
Know of any great buildings old/new?
I was also thinking of using source as a way to show 3D renders, since I am very confident with geometry in hammer. Has anyone ever done this? Is it a bad idea?
this means a lot to me any contributions are greatly appreciated!
ok, boot up HLTV, find out the IP and password to the server you wish to demo, then type these commands
serverpassword what_ever_the_password_is connect 243.323.23:20145 <- or what ever the friggin' IP is
then once it has connected, type
record demo_name_here
to stop and disconnect type
stop
now that you have your demo you can open in CS
by typing
playdemo demo_name_here
method 1
then use fraps blah blah edit up.
method 2
type
startmovie 30 name
then
endmovie
then look for all the picture in cstrike and use videomach to put em together
You can track around the demo if you use playdemo but the tracker is pretty buggy afaik so be careful. I am not too sure of the method 2 commands, but if you need further assistance do hesitate to contact me.
laser mice are insignificantly better and significantly more expensive. The MS explorer optical range is more than fine; cost me 10 bucks from some Asian store, and was far better for gaming than my new laser mouse which I just gave to a friend who also decided not to use it. It's not worth it in my opinion, not even for the hardest of hardcore gamers.
yes Spike, I have played a good map like that done by kreedz, I just think some of the stages where a bit rushed, but most of em are fun as. I think it's called kz_games_b01 or something crazy. Yes, source can do island maps fine, afaik.
yes, I have a few ideas. All I really want to do these days is push gldsrc to it's limits but the map is still running smooth. I have tried doing island maps because I have always wanted a beach assault map where the CT's come in to show either via boats or sky diving and junk. Anyway, I better get to work on it. I also would like to make a purely industrial map, where machines are constant threats to your safety and everything seems very dynamic. They are my two maps I want to complete most. I am not interested in source yet.
