Hm I might get this game

Hmm, As much as i enjoy the game, I would probably recommend against it.

The game, if you can get it to work, is awesome in every aspect, but it is getting it to work that is the major problem.
I have had problems, and have just un-installed BF2 since no one knows what is the problem with it.

I have seen so many people with so many problems, prople's computers just don't run it for some reason, people upgrade the whole computer to get it working and spend a fortune, and it still often doesn't work.

If you are sure it will work, which you can't be really, then get it, because it is fantastic, but it is a terrible waste if you aren't sure, and for some unknown reason, it won't work.

Yeh, a lot better BL.

But it can still be improved.

The text still looks very sketchy and low quality, same with the images, they look a bit low res.

But a lot better than your first one I'd say.

I think this is possibly the best comic on here.
The comic itself is extremely well made, and the speech bubbles are great.
The posing is also superb.

Hmm, I wish the Ichyso...ichetho..the sea lion thing was in Half-life 2, it looked great in A Red Letter Day, when you fall into the water, now imagine how terrifying it would be having that chasing you through the water in actual gameplay, I found them to be the scariest part of Half-Life.

Hmm, the story was good, so far.
The posing was pretty decent, a few bits could be improved.
The text and actual comic where atrocious though, impossibly hard to read and shoddy looking.

I think it was largely well done.

The fonts where superbly chosen.
The posing was alright, it varied greatly, from very good to very bad.

I didn't find it all that funny to be honest.

The story was good and the actual comic itself was well made.

So 8/10 I guess.

Hmm, Virus scans don't seem to work.

I used McAfee virus scan and a adaware scan, the mcafee turned up nothing, the Adaware turned up 28 little things whih I deleted.

BF2 is still unusable.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Also when I close BF2 when it doesn't work (via Task manager), I went into processes and there is something called 'SOUNDMAN.EXE', is that meant to be there?
I dunno, I'm not very computery, it just looked to be the odd one out as all the others are in lower case.

Hmm, also, since I have downloaded the patch, when I start up BF2 I get a window saying
'Download the 1.12 update now!
All soldiers must upgrade to version 1.12 to play online. Click open to get the update now'

It has only appeared since i have downloaded and updated the game to 1.12, so why is it still asking me to update?

I jsut tried, and it did nothign different.
I had nothign open and it still did the problem with connection and not being able to move my mouse.

Any other idea's?

Hmm, it appears I don't have a fire wall on atm anyway.
I went to control pannel etc. security centre and fire wall is off.

I shall try playing without anything else running though.

Hey, I have a problem with BF2.

I have just installed it again and installed Gamespy because I thought it would make life easier to join games etc.
I downloaded the 1.12 patch, patched BF2.
Now I join a game, and I can't move my mouse from the centre of the screen, I can see other stuff happening behind the choose your class screen, like tanks moving, helicopters flying past etc. but I can't move my mouse for some reason.

It keeps saying 'There is a problem with your connection' everytime and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out of BF2.

I'm not sure what I have done, I uninstalled and reinstalled because it was doing this, I thought it would help but it seems to just have wasted a large amount of time.

Yo, this is my first source map remember, so be kind...

I can't figure out how to make windows...
Okey, now if your done laughing.

I want to make windows like in the opening level of half-life2, where they are white shinning through etc. Or they appear white anyway.
But I try to make a window, and all I manage to get is the window texture, but with a load of black space all around it, so how am I meant to make decent windows with that?

Also how do you make it transparent without making the bits between the glass bits transparent aswell?
Because I wanted to make it transparent with something on the other side.

Hallelujah.

I Did what Ant said, nothing worked, so I uninstalled half-life 2 and steam, then reinstalled steam, then half-life 2, then the sdk, then did stuff, then ran the game, and now it works.

So I hopefully might be able to get out a compo map this time.

Although it's my first Source map so it will suck probs, but ahwell, a learning experience.

And thanks to Habboi and Ant greatly, even though you couldn't fix it at least you tried, "Its the thought that counts".

Okey, I managed to find the text file thing, and I placed it where Hammer said it didn't exist, and then I reloaded Hammer and it comes up with:

'Can't load FileSystemOpenDialog.dll'
Then I click okey and it crashes Hammer.

Hey, you probably know of my problem with Hammer from the other thread, and I need help with something else.

Okey, I have re-installed Steam, the Sdk, and reset the game configurations for the SDK, and I have jsut run Hammer in an attempt to get it to work.

And basically it comes up with the error:

'The configuration information for the game you are trying to run is invalid or missing' and it says in the help files to run anyway and it will fix itself after running once.

So okey I run Hammer, and it comes up with the error:

Gameinfo.txt doesn't exist in C:Programfiles/Steam/steamapps/Accident123/half-life2/hl2

I press okey, and the box saying about configurations need to be set comes up, saying it is the first time it has been run, I go to do it and it is already fully set up, with all the info there etc.

So I click okey hoping i will get to map and then it goes into a cycle of gameinfo.text doesn't exist - game configurations over and over, and if i click the 'x' on the configuration window it exits hammer all together.

So.....anyone got any ideas, I have desperately been trying to get Hammer working for the past few days, trying forums, sdk help, steam powered forums, etc. and nothing so far. :
