Make the button or whatever trigger the mm.
The mm triggers the door and th sounds.
like this:
my_door 0
my_movesound 0
my_stopsound 2

Fake it!
Set the door sounds to 'no sound'.
When the door starts to move, trigger an ambient_generic with 'not toggled' off.
When it stops, trigger it again and trigger another ambient_generic with 'not toggled' on for the stop sound.
Same for opening the door.
No problem with a multi-manager.

Nonsense!!!
It is impossible to dig that deep into the earth.
The material is so 'soft' down there that the digged hole closes again very fast.
Also the temperatures are so high that no microphone would work down there.
And even if they took all those hurdles, I bet that the modified the recordings a bit, to make them more 'convincing'.
So many dupable morons claim they recorded 'ghost voives' with their super microphones from inside some old houses.
You can make George Bush sound like Britney spears with ease.
Those soundfiles prove nothing.

Models are lit based on the world brush below them.
Isit possible to light up models on a func_wall etc. correctly?
Let's say you've got a catwalk, with masked textures. It has to an ent and thus the model will be black. Is there a way to create an invisible empty worldbrush that has a lightmap?
I often have to face this problem, because I use ents a lot to keep my r_speeds low.

It is possible.
It happens automatically.
If a player kills another player with a func_tank etc., he'll get a frag for it.

in a few questions Post #39135
1) Use multiple func_trains.
2) No. Afaik. Maybe a bomtarget can have a master, so you fake it.
3) It's called CLIP brush. Players can't pass it. Func_train can 'drive' trough all types of walls. If you need a wall that can only be passed when on the train, use a func_wall_toggle. Set 'fire on pass' key of the path_ entity to the walls name, so it'll be switched of before the train drives through. On a path_ behin the wall, do the same, so it's switched on again.

Doing it for HL? would increase the expectation extremely.
HL? is better, bugger and more powerfull and it's new to us all. It'd be hard to make something that uses the engine and has a good quality. Harder than for HL.
I like the prison comparison.
Are there any plans about a team for this mod? I'd like to make some abandoned buildings. :)

I remember a mod called TYS, 'test your skills'.
That sucked, r_speeds were super high, design was worse than noobish and it was unplayable, because the stupid mapper doesn't know that you should test maps before letting others play them.

A TFT that is as fast as an average normal monitor costs way too much.
The only thing advantage is more space.
I don't like TFTs because they have a fixed resolution. This forces me to use this resolution, because lower resolutions are interpolated which unsharpens the image.

Hmm, I think we shouldn't add any friendly NPCs.
Everybody is egoistic there, no one can take care of others since it's hard enough to keep one self alive.
Also we should not use things fdrom original HL. No barneys, no soldiers, no nothing.

1. picture: Too empty. You could make the temple thingy larger. Also remove the black wall, put something onto the room.
2. picture: Also too empty and the walls look a bit noobish. Put something on the top to make them less boring.
3. picture: The bevel at the bottom of the wall/pillar should be removed.
4. picture: Put some lights in there. And maybe some furniture.
5. picture: Change the texture of the red wall.
6. picture: Some torches might make it look less empty.
7. picture: Quite ok. If r_speeds allow it, you could place a trolley and a bevel around the exit in the wall.
8. picture: The wall in the background looks a noobish too. You could hang some wall carpets on the left wall.
9. picture: Again the walls and the emptiness. More plants could fix that. The two lower windows look a bit misplaced.

All in all it looks like a good start. You should now start to add detail.

I think it's the same.
TFT monitors work like LCD displays, for some reason they're called TFT though.
LCD = liquid cristal display (afaik)
TFT = thin film transistor

I like real monitors better though, they're just more flexible and sharper and faster ...

It'd be cool if you could increase the resolution of the lightmap.
The only way to get a higher resolution is scaling the texture down, too bad.

Clip brushes are covered with the CLIP texture.
The are invisible and only exist in the three clipping hulls, thus they don't block bullets and monsters.

Stupe!
Vis computes visibility, Rad does the lighting.
Plus, I doubt that any HL map has leaks. Leaks cannot be seen.
Defining a leak is hard, because all the sideeffects of leaks can be produced without having one actually.

its unrealistic
That's it what annoys about all those new games. They try to be as realistic as possible.
If I want realism I can go outside, there's enough realistic stuff.
When I play computergames I want to be entertained. DOOM3, HL? and Stalker: Oblivion Lost are games that'll, hopefully, provide this.
There's enough realism to make it feel real and enough fictional stuff to entertain me.
CS has been fun too. But with v1.1 all the shit started.
Realism should not be more important than fun.
This sux.

Sounds very good so far. It's not like the most HL mods 'after Gordon killed Nihilanth ...'.
This one shows a lot potential.

I think the crime should be something that isn't really a crime.
Things like 'he knew too much, we had to get rid of him'.
He could have been against this TV show and worked for a coalition that tried to enlighten the people of the cruelty and inhumanity of this show.
Just an idea.
I'm not good at thinking of names, sorry.

@pepper: I can't really say something about it, because it's got no textures yet. But I would add a rear spoiler (is that the right word?).
