in What's the worst things... Post #49313
Actually my life is too full of harrowing, cringeworthy things to tell you all about.
The embarrassing pyrotechnical adventures of my schizo mother, my girlfriend leaving me (she didnt like the idea of my downsizing our realationship to 'best friends who sometimes get it on till someone better comes along' (which it didnt, and I'm alone for nearly a full year now.)
Having to get rid of my little Jack Russel puppy Quincy, because the damn postman refused to deliver mail even if Quincy was locked INSIDE.

If I remember any more wierd and wonderful stuff, years of repression have stopped working and I'll be in a corner crying.
:(

Im just after realising that i never EVEN TRIED the startup disk!
Damn I'm stupid, It'll at least let me know if C: exists.
All I actually did to resolve the problem was bash the keyboard, knock the mouse about and shake the tower!

Someone kick me in the head please!

Got home on Friday afternoon from work, switched on computer and....

Cannot find OS on any drive media!!!!

This can be simplified using the following equation:

computer = dead

:(

I'm not forking out for a new hard drive (get this, my BROTHER fixes computers for a living and wants to CHARGE me! ME!!)
So my plan to get a BETTER computer has now become get a WORKING computer. I cannot map, join IRC or any of the good stuff for a while.

Please post any suggestions/condolences to this thread :P

Also may I suggest that the next competition becomes "Build a new computer for poor Sean."

No computer at home....may god and heaven help me.

On the subject of jpegs and assorted gubbins: I find if you turn your saturation up a tiny tiny bit in an image before making it jpeg, it greatly removes the 'artifacts'.
artifacts, heh...you learn something new every day!

floater, not so:
being abducted by aliens would, in your final minutes be a brilliant way to die since you would see that life was not only on earth and therefore the world was not created solely to create man. That'd be an experience.

note to self:dont reply to threads while drinkin

nuthin wrong with that, most secret orders are just social clubs for the rich/swingers parties, where you go to get ahead in high society. Its exlusionary, and means that noone else'll ever get a high job over them, but such is life.

for half life, falling out of a window that wasnt SKYed round and slightly hurting yourself in the void....then i guess you starve to death.

real life I guess getting AIDS and killing yourself a before a cure comes out.

Actually MY worst way would be falling into the sea. I can swim ok but i get vertigo looking into deep water, and feel kind sucked towards it. One time on my mates boat i looked into the water and he had to bring me back because i was just lying full on my back gripping the sides. It was only a RIB!

Bah, steam! I took the headstaggers with it on tuesday night and uninstalled it. I'm just going to wait untill theyve improved it before bothering again.

(since this is in 'stuff' rather than 'General mapping questions' I uphold my right to rant, but not answer the question. (dunno). :D

Didnt he die a few years ago, or who am i thinking of:

in Twhl is becoming concious again! Post #47723
To tell the truth, when I started mapping seriously (basically when I got here), I was pretty afraid to ask much as the forum was a bit of a snakepit of flaming and nonsense. I just read back-threads and all the tutorials, and let other noobs take the flak from the small band of 31337 members and looked for the sensible responses from seventh etc. I have to admit that Ive noticed a marked difference in the quality of reponses, especially to the more complicated problems so everyone is definately pulling their weight around here!
