Humm, well considering I started this I should say mine too. When I was making my de_bedroom, because I was so excited with how cool it was turning out, I mapped for about 5 hours . lol that doesnt sound like much compared to other people but after that I felt preety damn bored and depressed (I have no idea why, I must be screwed up).
At this one cyber cafe near us they have alot of really hard core half life / counterstrike people, and every once and a while these guru's have a mapping party or something like that where they stay up all night mapping :

My first map was called Funarena , lol. In my opion it was still probably one of the best maps I have ever made cause it took me so long cause I was so unexpierenced. It was like an fy map with guns laying right next to you when you spawn. It was basically a big room with 2 platforms per side of the room (1 ontop of each other). At the top there were 2 sniper rifles.
At the start I thought the coolest thing was to make secrets lol, in fact I asked how to make a func_illusionary wall (i didnt know it was that at the time) and made a completely noticable hidden passage where there was an AWP. The lighting sucked (way to bright), the textures were all de_dust except for one that I tried to include which had my sn on it - but it didnt work cause for some reason -includewad wasnt in my vocabulary lol.
Soon I made an expansion - an upper level that was like an de_deagle5 map. It was actually a preety fun map, considering I was at the top of the world when I did it lol, and provided HOURS of fun. Maybe ill dig up a screenie of :D . See all that detail you can almost see it !

Think back, far back into the previous time when you made your first "map" that you were proud of. I'm sure that we have all made the tutorial map where they teach you how to make a room, light, and player spawn lol. Im talking about the first multi room / outdoor / map that you thought was the most awsome thing ever. :D

Dude you would really do that? I mean there has to be some pain killer to do it - dont make harsh descisions that could impact your for your whole life just because its bad right now - at least that what helps me get through life : . Here goto groups.google.com and type in a search for doctors - and ask that questions in a forum where doctors talk. It will save you the embarassment of asking your actual doctor... I mean if you dont want to ask him thats gotta be the reason, that or he might think your insane... yeah i really dont think that was the time for a joke...

yeah... a little complex lol - wait I can trick a monster maker in to making things like ammo_9mm ? -anyway here i have a couple of idea's and another question (im tryin to make a mod so im gonna have a few)

Is it possible to have a multimanager to have ammo drop somewhere - like make a ammo entity with the name "ammodrop" and then have a multi-manager just trigger it inlike 90 second intervels?

And - is there anything that can make a counter type thing, so that it can count up a score or just how many kills that you have had without any complex scripting :zonked: - lol

sigh, i will answer you because im sure others wont - look in steam/steamapps/<user>/counterstrike (or cstrike i forget)/ - and look there for it. I wouldnt recomend using steam cause it sucks ass

OK, now im preety sure i have the monster spawn working, but say i wanted something to drop for certain when a monster dies, and not what its carying. I mean like, when a zombie or something weak like that dies I want it to drop a 9mm ammo clip. Is that possible? Preferibly easily without some sort of multi-manged teleport autospawn kill mechanism lol?

ok I think i may have it - if I made a monster_<w/e> and set its name to something like monspawn1 and then used a multi-manager target to monspawn1 value:5 it would make w/e that monster thing is there spawn in 5 seconds right? And to make it look a lil' better I could have a env_sprite with a smoke puff in the same place to make it look a little cooler!

:x My hammer all of a sudden today gets super slow! I restarted it cause sometimes my comp just gets slow for some reason but it was still slow! It took like five minutes just to make a new map and then like 10 seconds every time I do something (ex. pressing enter after making a box). My 3D view box is fricken annoying now cause I try to move and its like .5 frames per second :o ! Is there a reason for this that may not be realated to my computer's speed? Incase someone wants to know i think its a 1.6 gig CPU and 512 mg memory...

well isnt that a normal security camera where you have to go up and press use? I kinda have a problem with understanding what they are trying to do. I just wanna know if I can make a monitor that like 5 people can see at once, kinda like a TV. I did figure out how to make normal cameras an easier way though.

Can I make a security camera system the display's the what the camera see's on some sort of texture? I really think that would be cooler for my level than having to go up to a screen and press use. Actually I don't know how to do that either so please give me a tutorial to make a normal one :)
