1) Make it from scratch
2) Don't get in trouble for theft
3) ???
4) Profit!

However, if you're hell-bent on porting it illegally, then you'd need a model decompiller, a map decompiller, and something that can turn VTFs into bmps or pngs.

What I do is I set the eating animation as the zombie's Idle sequence in the scripted_sequence, the get up animation as it's action animation, set the scripted_sequence to override AI, (No interuptions might be useful as well) and only trigger the sequence when the zombie takes damage or when the player gets "to close for comfort" to the zombie via trigger_once.

The 255th color in a HL model texture can be used as an alpha channel; make the model, then either make it alpha in the .QC, or in HLMV if you're using a version that supports it.

I guess you'll have to try reinstalling the SDK - but make sure to backup the mapsrc folder with all your VMFs in it just in case it deletes it when the SDK is uninstalled.

I think the problem is that the materials window in Hammer isn't showing anything.

Check if the "only used textures" flag is checked, and if there's a filter in the filter boxes. Other than that, you could double check the materials directory in tools>preferences.

According to the VDC, all you need to do is insert a func_instance (point entity) and make it use the VMF you want. I think the VMFs for the instances should be completely functional on their own, but I could be wrong.

in Nonexistant brushes "outside world& Post #294449
I've literally expanded the cordon as far out as possible and it still comes up with the error.
That's the opposite of what to do when it gives you that error. However, due to the func_walls, something is definitely messed up with your map, and the cordon isn't the cause. Unless you've tied an entity to entity a lot of times, (which I doubt you have) your map has probably corrupted itself somehow. Try copying the entire map (manually, not with the select area tool) into a new map, and saving it as the old one. Might work.

in Nonexistant brushes "outside world& Post #294447
You can't find the brushes because Hammer and ZHLT/SHLT use different numbering systems for brushes.
This is usually caused by either an invalid brush ( use 'check for errors' in Hammer) or because the map is too close to the edge of the grid; I had this exact problem doing a cordon compile, and I just moved the map a bit away from the edge. Apparently it does this because the cordon's outer edges take up a lot more space when compiling than when you see it in the editor.

I used to use it, but then it broke. It wasn't ever really useful for me, because I'm mainly SP, and it takes a crapton of scripting to even get an NPC-like entity in the game, let alone actually having some semblance of fully-working AI.

Um... no? If there was it'd just be HLDM on the spirit code base, which equals no change since there'd be no new maps.
EDIT:
I need some voiceacting again, this time for the hazard course. It's 12 lines, with a total of 19 lines of text. Just a scientist, no specific accent required, no effects added. I'd do it myself, but my voice is still crap, and I seem to not be capable of even talking into a mic. (Despite the fact that I love acting)

Also, I was going to post some media, but I don't currently know any image hosting sites that work and don't require an account. (imageshack has apparently decided that you're not allowed to upload anything unless you have an account, because it keeps giving me error messages and redirecting to the main page after the progress bar fills.)

You may have to resize the textures as well, since HL doesn't like images larger than 512x512 (It will work, but the compiler will complain, and if you get too large, who knows what will happen)
