Yeah the idea of map from the base is the best! No one will be able to complain since all they need is to change the layout and the size of all the enteries will be the same.

Th first fps is body count... just so you know..
How is that possible if Body Count was released on 1994 by Capstone Software while Castle Wolfenstein 3D was realesed in 1992? ;)

BTW: In the chaos engine, anybody knows whats the use of the money in the first and third levels in the world? It disapears in the next level anyway.

Edit: That game is even old for it's own time! Doom was released one year before it! :o

The chaos engine was hard for me too... once. Now I finished it many times, I found most of the secrets in the game and the chaos engine it self doesn't kill me even once, only it's four 'gaurds' kill me. Too bad I don't have a joystick so I can play with my brother in the same time, the computer is so dumb as a companion, even if I buy him lots of wisdom! :tired:

Did you ever hear of dstroy? Thats how it is sepposed to be spelled- with a spelling error! ;)

No,there was one fps game before it! I think it was called Catacomb Rider. Alas no one knew about it, the first games are always not popular. Like Dune2, everybody knows C&C but less people know Dune2.

Cs 1 is old? :P It can't be, it was probebly published in 1999-2001, thats not that old you know. Maybe we should determine what is old and whats not before starting such threads.

I think old in terms of first person shooters is everything before Quake1, which was the first game with models. All the games that use only sprites.

WHAT? I can't build stuff that touch the outer box? This sucks. I can already see how this will turn out- many floating objects in a big box.

Edit #2:
The mechinery sounds nice. If I wont be able to do that then fire is good enough for me too. I can't see how will it reduce the poly count if all the artitecture wont touch the box. More visible faces you know... nulling wont fix all the problems that it will cause.

Edit #3:
On second thought I think that spirit is better then both. The mechinery area will need it. After all it will be easier to make working mechines with the move with option.

Edit #4:
I have an idea for anyone whos doing the energy part- Place trigger_pushs in many places so you'll fight usally during you float.

Edit #5:
Shit I love all the ideas! I prefer the mechinery(I just really like the idea and the ideas I have for it), then water, then fire(You'll need someone who can make terrain thats not too fancy(I know how) and costum textures) and the last is energy.(although it's still a very cool idea I'm just not such a big fan of high technological lazery stuff)

Edit #6:
I have another idea for the energy section- Make the goal of that section to reach the top of the room and destroy the core!

I finally decided I'll make the mechinery area. Can I use some of Quake2's textures they suit me well.

Yeah I'm certinly abusing it! :P One more thing- Can I make a mod with four areas like these ones after I'll finish this map?

Make sure you typed the name of the gman in the 'speaker type' value(if it's a scripted sentence) or in the 'target monster' value(if it's a script/aiscript)

Turn all the pillers into one breakable and make it target a multimanager that will trigger the func_train to move downward along it's route. The location of the cilling is determined by their first path_corner. Make sure thee path_corner is in the right place!

I have the same error only it's just the oppsite. In hammer I can't see some sprites(that include's hl1's glow3 sprite) but ingame they show up! :

My father wants to buy a newer computer. He doesn't want and know how to build one so don't even start with the stupid comments! :x

Which one is better? The perpose of the computer is to use complex and heavy animation programs like maya so we prefer that it will be as good as possible.

Try using texture lights too. Well not only... look in their maps. Most of your areas are single floor... sometime doble is better. Support beams can be sometimes nice too.
