I like how you adjusted the contrast with the sky and the ground, and you made the colours of the ground more living wich really makes it come forward, though maby you removed the shadow to much of the sand bunker in the foreground. Personal taste i geuss. All in all it is nicely fixed up and would be a nice scene to put a render in or so.

Yes, so it is in europe, mainly in germany and france, but already some succesfull games are being produced here.

I bet its harder to break through in the music world, you should try making music for games, could be interesting.

Anyone here ever thought about doing this professional, or taking small mapping jobs for money?
Yeah, if i wouldnt have gone ot the HAVO i would have done the study animation and gamedesign at the GLR(grafisch lyceum rotterdam).

I've also been approached once by a friend to do a paid mapping project, deu to there lead mapper being sick for weeks. Didnt really know what to expect so i decided not to dive into it.

For now, i just map for fun. And i will always keep doing it as i find it interesting to bang a crowbar against a door.

For those of you whom use G-max as a modeling tool i've found a page with a whole lot of importers/exporters for G-max. Including a .smd importer wich is used by studiomdl to compile models.

importers/exporters

I'm still fiddling around with this, when i have more information i'l get back to you and write a tutorial about getting it all to work in half-life.

Milkshape is a excellent program for starters, easy and powerfull. But, programs like G-max, Blender, 3dstudiomax and Maya give you a better and faster workflow.

All depends on how much money you want to spend.

I wouldnt necissarily say that it is hard, it has a high learning curve, but once you get the flow it allows you to produce stuff really fast. For me myself, im looking into blender right now, a free modeler.

Just as i thaught, Though the minimum specs on the box are misleading, with the latest patch they screwed up something so it runs like hsit on the minimum specs.

Your card is absolute crap and wont run it right, your last resort is installing the Nvidia drivers found in the DVD itself. Otherwise return it to the store or buy a new card, a Gforce 6600GT 128mb will do just fine.

They do not neccisarily need to make it illigal, you have a thing called intelectual property, wich in this case also applies ot the textures.

Oh, the R_speeds are very reasonable being under the 1000, wich might be a bit high for some people but remember, its a complicated map.

Garg, the clip isnt finishd, it's just a place holder for me, with weapons i usualy throw in a couple of blocks to see wich comes where and how im going to build it up for animating so i dont need to fool around detaching half of my model.

Yeah, im planning on a couple of different colour version, havent decided on wich on though, probably a red one and something with flames and snarks :) .

Um, i dont think you can draw a certain line with being better at one thing, since modeling and level design are 2 different things wich surprisingly have a lot incommen.

Again, thanks for all of the compliments, it only takes a lot of practice to do this, at some point you can see how a real world object would be in-game and how you would build it.

I like the whole story/dialogue, but it could do a bit bigger so that i can make-out stuff. Try 800px for the width of the comic.

The c17 map? Didnt really like it, but it's better then i would do in source. Though the bar is good. Oh, try to give the swat's a more swat like look, they look rather, lousy right now :) .
