Well, there's less degradation of quality than if you scaled it up.

Just some stock rooms or hallways. I'll put together a map with the standards for size and props in a few and PM you the link.

As for the figure... Gallum galla gilla ma.

Thanks for the bump, Atom.
Well, since I got a PM on the Black Mesa yesterday asking if it was in development and a few more people expressing interest there, I decided that I may as well resume work on the mod.
If anyone wants to help with a few map sections or something...

It might need a little editing but it should work.
I think the buttons might be a bit large for his purposes though, so he'd want a GUI solution. I've seen it done before... But I don't remember what the mod was called and I can't seem to find it on MODDB anymore. I remember it had reflective glass, improved physics, HL2 style zombies, and improved graphics all around. A lot of ported HL2 content too... :\ May be the reason I can't find it on MODDB.

What has Valve done that gave you a grudge against them? Besides being part of the huge 'realism' crowd (and what FPS company isn't?) what is there that bothers you?

The "horrid green lighting" gives a different ambience. The foreground lighting makes it look like a beautiful warm summer morning, while that greenish glow back there gives me an uneasy feeling. As if something wasn't so bright and pretty and warm. You might want to use that to your advantage.
That's exactly why I'm using it. I was just expecting someone to come and say "yuck, change that green lighting" :P

A few notes of levelchanges:
1) The info_landmark must always remain in the same position relative to the area the change is in. You may move the hallway/room/ etc, as long as you move the landmark the same distance.
2) The trigger_changelevels don't determine where the player is in the new map, only where the loadpoint is.

I hope this info helps, I don't have the resources to help with the maps themselves at the moment.

It's fun. The maps are a bit dark, and a bit limited quantity-wise, but it's nice. I've never had a problem with the controls once I figured out that there was no alt fire and action-reload was included. (There's one bad thing about the game) I lagged myself to death a few times, but that's not really the game's fault.

Oh yeah, one last point, The default resolution was too high for my monitor to display, I had to use game launch settings to even see the main menu.

Yeah, it's great so far. Just a few minor details missing right now- the rounded off corners (should be easier to see where to round them once you get one of the textures I sent on the board) And the plate where I presume your name would go so you're always credited when the model is used. But other than that, it looks wonderful.

Yeah. I'm uploading the texture bases now in PSD and PNG- highres and lowres. You may have to change the size of the board itself to fit the dimensions- the example picture's board is a bit short...

You'd need a HL2 model decompiler, a modeling program that uses .smd formats, and a HL model compiler.
And a lawyer, because it's illegal unless you made the model. Just throwing that out there.

Tet: Ah, I see. It's hard to tell over the internet whether someone's kidding/being sarcastic or not if they just use text. :\
I did look into the XSI mod tool, but the registration process seems... unnecessary for a free program. Why would they need your address for it, for example? I'm downloading blender now, but it'd be a while until I'm skilled with it, if ever. If you're interested in doing it, send me a PM and I'll get a link ready with the files.

Crollo: Yeah, exactly. And I've already made the textures that make up the important part of the billboard, it's just a dark metal texture and company faceplate that need textures. And really, a Base source texture could be used for the metal's base.

I'm looking for someone who can model and skin for Source. I want a billboard made in the basic style of this stock picture:
User posted image
one ad (only on the front), post supported, etc. The scale should be medium-sized, roughly 328 units high or so. The ad part will have to be higher than in the example picture above to accommodate the ad skins.
I have 4 skins for the ad part of the billboard designed, with a .psd template ready if you want to make another skin to take credit for the model that way. Alternatively, you could use the company name on the billboard's body (underneath the ad in the example above) and make it so that your name appears no matter what skin is being used.
Post here and I'll PM any interested modelers with a link to the .psd's and .png's that I've made for the skins (Sorry, I'm not any good with Source's material system- you may also want to make edits to two of the generic skins so they look better.
If you have any questions or I didn't explain well enough here, let me know and I'll do my best to clear things up.
Thank you for your time.

As a side note, the skins are subject to change as time goes on and I use them in specific projects; the skins and amount of skins will likely change for each mod or map package- I hope to soon be proficient enough in materials to do this myself. I haven't made skins for any other parts of the billboard, so you're free to do whatever you want in that aspect.

I'm not saying it's not, I'm just saying instead of rescaling the gargantua model, he could just make a walk-in closet and put a normal garg in there, with the yellow blobs.
