The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

I almost cried. I really have no words. The film just slapped my soul, I feel really bad for what happened. Shit, history is nothing compared to watching these films. What if the leaders of this world would have the innocence of these children. Ah, painful world...

Also, a comment on the young actor. His eyes are incredible. Everybody tells me what beautiful blue eyes I have but... they're nothing compared to his.

Also that raven city mod is nothing special. At least perhaps you're giving us bad examples. Please impress me.

Runes of Magic. I'm just installing it. I thought of playing an MMORPG(never played one, just an MMORTS I'm addicted to, League of Legends) with a friends of mine. And read about lots of free MMORPGs there and I had to make some choices.
Initially I wanted "Perfect World", but the games is quite dated. The only special thing about it is the in-depth character customization.
Then I said I'll install Vindictus(which is on source engine). Unfortunately, after I installed it I discovered I can't play it yet because all Europe IPs are banned. From what I know it should be available starting this month sometime. It is the best-looking free MMORPG(and the single one to have physics) I've seen yet, so I will definitely install it when it will be available to play.
So my only real option is Runes of Magic, which is basically a wow clone(with lots of additions). But it has a truckload of content and best of all, there are no monthly fees.
Heh, just want to occupy my time with something in the holidays, lazy style :D.

Since I got into a gaming fever, I'll try more of them. I also installed NFS World just to see how it is. I'll probably progress a bit, out of curiosity, not that it is enjoying. I can already say it's not my genre.
The shitty graphics... and controls are disgusting, add to that the fact that you have to pay with real money for some bonuses and also that it gets really boring, since all you do is racing. Boring style. Ok, let's be honest, graphics are how they are because MMOs are intended to be played by a large mass of players, and not everyone has good graphics cards. I only have one complaint here though: since when NOS comes out from the rear lights?
But what about control? Yes, it's an MMO, but still, MMOs have to be addictive. It's only spiced up with very few power-ups and some "skills". I mean, put a 2 year old child in a race and it will probably be at least 3rd place if he\she is not retarded. Heck, I don't even know why they included accelerate and braking keys! The best lack of lazyness proof is the absence of cockpit view, of course.

What I noticed with high r_speeds is that they won't necessarily run better on higher performance pcs. I mean, I think there is a limit to what Goldsource can render. Yes, probably 5000 w_poly will somewhat run on a high performance actual pc, and if you take a pc from 2 years ago for example, it won't run as well. But I don't think adding 2000 more w_poly will still run better on a higher performance PC.
At least that is what I observed on my own computer.

It's too bad Issues: Source died. (Or so I assume, they never got back to recruiting)
They were recruiting on chatbear this spring\summer, and I know I joined too and started to do something. Never continued though and from what I know, chatbear is dead too. I'm not interested anymore in that project anyway.
C++ makes no sense to me.
C++ was designed keeping in mind that people who will use it know what they do.

Even better, you can just search "church" on this site: http://www.cgtextures.com/. They have plenty of high-quality textures. The only thing left to do is to make them seamless and add them in a WAD or make them source textures.

It stops at "Sending client info", then it either resets the modem either it stays frozen there and if I retry it says something like "Steam validation rejected". Tried deleting clientregistry.blob and it still doesn't work. HL1 works in mp though, it only does this withing the source engine.

Look at CryEngine 2 as well: massive landscapes with an obscene amount of graphical detail.
The CryEngine2 Sandbox gives you the ability to map with brushes also. Yes, there are plenty of models, prefabricates and stuff like that. But what do you do if you want to build, say, a power plant? Not much, other than using world brushes and the given models(if you aren't able make 3D models) combined with some tricks to give the impression of a big facility.

But then look at Metro 2033: a modern FPS, concentrated more on closed environments rather than open ones(although it displays them successfully).
How would one be able to map such closed environments without brush-based mapping?

video is a thousand pictures.
You are right. At a frame rate of, let's say, 30 fps, that would be a 33,4 seconds video.

If you don't want to take fraps, there is an alternative I think. It's called camstudio. But it records like crap. Your best solution would still be fraps.
