Yeah, most likely it'll be one of the tickyboxes at the bottom of the materials window, but if they still don't appear after fiddling with those, right click on the Source SDK and click "Local Files > Verify integrity of tool cache."

This will take a while.

If it STILL doesn't work, open the SDK main window (before you open Hammer) and click "Refresh SDK Content". This will also take a while.

College day:

1. Wake up at 6am.
2. Cross room to turn off alarm (if it's next to my bed I just fall asleep again straight after turning it off).
3. Stretch.
4. Blink blearily.
5. Turn on computer.
6. Fill kettle, put it on the boil.
7. DeStorm's 3-minute upper body pump.
8. Shower.
9. Get dressed.
10. Make tea with aforementioned boiled water.
11. Prepare toast/cereal/porridge.
12. Eat at PC, checking e-mails and facebook and the regular webcomics.
13. Check I've got everything I need for the upcoming day. Portable HDD, storyboards, cables, assignments etc.
14. Check BBC news for important updates, weather and traffic info. Turn off PC.
15. Hair gel. Acne medicine. Scrape tongue. Brush teeth.
16. Leave house to catch 7:30 bus to Paisley.
17. Catch 8:30 train to Corkerhill.
18. Arrive at college for first class at 9:00.

Non-college day:

1. Wake up. Maybe.

Looks like rad isn't performing a full compile. You got a leak or similar problem? Rad will still compile with errors, but often produces effects like this.

It is indeed, Tawnos. Used it in 2 of my previous Source releases, but this is its first appearance in Goldsource.

Looking pretty good, Four N Exclamation mark M Four T Zero R. Just a couple of things:

1. Definitely lacking trims. Nothing between the walls and floors, walls and ceilings or platforms and walls. No window frame either or frames around the elevators.

2. That smashed up monitor just looks weird. It'd never break like that. The frame, the glass and the innards would break independently and would be noticeably separate if it was strewn on the floor like that.

Looking good, though.

Love the gears with the belt. The ambient light seems too dark compared to the skybox, and I think if you're keeping it that dark then the bright spots need to be more noticable. Increase the brightness of the lamp's textlight to really add an extra layer to this.

And it's not even that the 360 is "bad", it's just utterly pointless to a PC gamer because it has literally no selling points which outclass the PC.

And Striker, he doesn't spend $300 on meals, he was using an exaggerated example to try to make his point because he thinks we don't get it when we do. We just think your opinion is worth shit and that pretty much everything you say is wrong/retarded/trolling, Crollo.

I anyway consider gaming consoles a waste of money.
For the most-part, I totally agree. I sincerely wish I hadn't got my 360. It's just a really weak PC with poor controls and less functionality.
PS3 is the only one I see a point in because it has a good library of games not available on a better platform (read: PC).

The Sony Playstation Network has been offline for about a week now. I'm posting a new thread because there's been an important development which warrants its own thread:

All your information including "name, address (city, state, zip), country, email address, birthdate, PlayStation Network/Qriocity password and login, and handle/PSN online ID" have been stolen, as well as, possibly, "profile data, including purchase history and billing address (city, state, zip), and your PlayStation Network/Qriocity password security answers".

Finally, "(...) we are advising you that your credit card number (excluding security code) and expiration date may have been obtained"

Basically, there's a catastrophic security crisis going on with the PS3's Playstation Network, which has compromised data for 77 million user accounts. There is still no ETA for resumption of PSN services. All of the quoted text comes directly from Sony, btw, so you can be sure this isn't just some third party speculating on the issue.

B.O.B. Has an awful lot of shit as well, but some of his songs are closer to Seal than anything else. Very melodic, very calming.

Good example.
Alternative example.
He has a nice voice and is a talented songwriter.

Kanye West, on the other hand, just uses a beat, a bassline and talks himself up. That's it. That's his thing. It's tolerable in a club, but I'd never buy the album.

just raping with music in background.
I find it sets the mood for a good bitta raping.

Edit:
Actually, no, sorry, your comment is too annoying to let slip with a mere joke about the fact you mis-spelled "rapping".

Good rap artists have so much rhythm, tonality and control in their voices that they effectively become an instrument themselves (see: akala, plan b, king blues, skrein, sage francis, jedi mind tricks) - complimenting the song rather than just using it as a beat to brown-nose themselves (see: 50 cent, Kanye West)
You've got an incredibly obtuse view of music, one I shared when I was around 14 so I'm guessing that's roughly your age (coincidentally the sort of age where I listened to bands like Arch Enemy). Don't worry, you'll mature out of it. Don't judge an artist/song just because it's a particular genre. I listen to everything, from heavy metal to drum n' bass, dubstep to rap. Classic rock, punk, world music, indie rock, soul from all over the world. Good music can be found everywhere, and you've clearly got yourself stuck in one corner.

While I'm not going to deny that American hip-hop artists like 50 Cent and Lil Wayne are nothing short of atrocious, there's still a lot of decent music coming out of the States - including rap and hip-hop. Check out artists like Jedi Mind Tricks, Sage Francis, Foo Fighters and B.O.B. for some good American music.

That said, the majority of artists I listen to are European, so I can get behind this thread.

Despite the fact I've somewhat outgrown metal, I still love In Flames from Sweden. One of the best live shows I've been to. Great tracks include Come Clarity, Satellites and Astronauts and My Sweet Shadow.

Some incredibly intelligent rap comes from underground London artist Akala. He's only just starting to get recognition here in the UK, and I hope he makes it big because the man is a complete genius. Seriously check this song out.

I'm sure I don't need to mention how awesome Daft Punk from France are, so I'll just finish with KT Tunstall. Very easy-listening, but just a brilliant song-writer and performer. Check out her British TV debut which made her big on Later with Jools - recording the elements of the song and looping them live.

I use a macbook pro for editing college assignments in Final Cut Pro (FCP only works on macs, but is a requirement in order to pass the editing part of my course. Sadface.) and they're certainly well designed. It's super solidly built and I feel like I could throw it against the wall and it'd be fine. Aside from the ridiculous cost, however, the problems start to arise when you turn it on and realise you're using a fucking mac. It'll drive you absolutely insane if you want to do anything on it that wasn't specifically designed to run on a mac. I'm also not 100% sure that the Source SDK is available on mac, even though the games are.

Like I said, Alienwares are great, although I still think you're better finding an equivalent for cheaper. If you've decided you're definitely getting either a Macbook or an Alienware, though, go for the Alienware.

Surely it's pointless to put the i7 in it. It's running at a fairly low clock speed (it'd have to in the small space a laptop provides due to lack of cooling) and you'd probably get similar performance and MUCH better value for money from an i5.

Personally I would avoid an Alienware. Not because they're not good - they're great - it's just the same deal you get with Apple: an extra £300 for the badge alone.

You try getting a job and finishing high school at the same time.
I thought most people did that? I did that.
And its fair because I am not robbing any one.
Interesting viewpoint.
But it doesn't explain why it's fair that you should get the same privileges as people who did buy the game.

Picture this:
You go to a gig. The ticket price at the door was £20, but you sneaked in without paying. During the gig people find out you got in for free when they paid. These people would resent you - it's only fair. They paid; you didn't. Why should you get the same satisfaction that they're getting when you didn't pay the price that they did?
They form an angry, yet organised crowd and chuck you out.

In this metaphor, I'm the crowd.
