Actually, I've been thinking about this: a Half-Life film could potentially work, but it'd be dependant on a variety of factors, the most important of those being securing a good (and I do mean good) script and a good director. I have a certain vision in mind for such a film: it wouldn't be over-the-top action, but it'd be interesting and pacey.

It's McAfee firewall/spyware/virus protection w/ an AOL all-in-one interface.It's shit. McAfee sucks. Anything that attempts to do everything doesn't do anything particularly well. I suggest going for individual packages, like Ad-Aware, AVG and ZA.

Mmm, I like the mouseover stuff. Informative. You have a lot of empty space to the right of the banner which looks rather silly. Not sure how to fill it, but I can suggest that you don't fill it with text - use some sort of graphic work.
Apart from that, and my dislike of the colours, it's clean and tidy, which is great.
Edit: Make the banner a link to the front page. I have a habit to use the title banners of sites as a link to home (I do so on TWHL and on Sliced Gaming, as well as any other site I visit).

Erm, unless you're downloading the most dodgiest mods in existence (and I'm talking about the ones that disguise viruses as mods) then there's no chance that mods would be doing damage to your PC. The only thing they'd be doing that'd be potentially harmful is take up HDD space.

Haha, that's for people with a worse connection than me.
The temperature range seems fine, don't worry about. First of all, run every single decent utility program ever created: I'm talking about Ad-Aware, Spybot: Search & Destroy and Codesoft's Starter program. The first two will scan for adware and spyware, and the last one will allow you to see what the heck is running at startup. If you have any odd anomalies in there, you can disable them.
I do hope you're running a decent firewall (I recommend ZoneAlarm). If all else fails, throw your computer out a window. Or format. Might be some crappy HDD sectors screwing everything up, who knows. Defrag too.

Actually, Steam had a client update that had nothing to do with those new games.
- Friends now displays the game you are playing to all your friends
- Attempting to add a Friend who doesn't have a Steam account will now give you the option to send them an email, inviting them to become one
- The words 'valve' or 'steam' are no longer available for use in the Friends name
- Fixed game install dialog over estimating install size for games that shared content
- Added a "Don't Show me Again" checkbox to the System Requirements dialog for games
- Fixed FPS drop after running a listen server

It doesn't rule your life. Valve is a publisher - just because you don't like what they publish doesn't automatically mean that whatever they touch turns to sewerage.

Recovery programs work by scanning certain sectors in your drive that contain "deleted data". When you simply empty the recycle bins, Windows tells you that the file is gone and that there's space to write to: this is incorrect. The file is still there, but Windows has allowed other apps/whatever overwrite this data if the sector on the drive is called. So if you've overwritten the files, you won't be able to restore them.

Well, I absolutely hate the colour design both in the forums and the main site, but it's your choice after all. I also hate phpBB in all its forms.
To be honest, I love how the forums on TWHl are layed out: simple, elegant, and part of the site. Granted, while it may be beyond your abilities to code such a system, it's an idea.

Point is Jobabob, they could do a lot worse (the pricing system for WoW for example is fucking insane). The pricing, imo, justifies the content we are receiving, so I have no problem in forking over the money.

I love widescreen.
