I took this photo just randomly... and thought some enhancing would be good for it. Too bad we can't make round Cristal clear ash-trays in hl1 or source :D.

Of course it's not 4.6-120mm. 26-678mm is the 35mm equivalent focal length for that. That takes into account sensor size. Your camera has a small image sensor, hence it has such a focal length range.
But that's what it says on the lens :\. 4.6-120 mm. I'm confused.

Also, those lens are insane :|. How are you supposed to even take a photo with that? Don't you need a tripod or something ? :\

26-678mm
OK, that corresponds to 26x optical zoom, but my lens are actually 4.6-120 mm.
Found out that my Nikon includes in-camera barrel distortion reduction.

Well, I made Panoramio account. There are almost no pictures of my area. There are though spammed-like photos near a cave. I will try to get my pictures posted in Google Earth.

f/5 unfortunately...

I haven't really experimented yet with the aperture priority, I mostly played with the exposure time because I really didn't understand the concept :D. But I read about it today, so I will start experimenting in aperture priority too. Those apricots and nectarine pictures could have been shot better if I knew about this :D.

You know, a thing that I observed is that it has (I don't think this is correct but you can understand me) very visible barrel distortion in some cases, like macro shots of some text. Is that normal ?
[EDIT] Oh, and one thing I haven't found about is this: why does the maximum aperture gets smaller as the zoom increases ?

I can proudly post here now too!

Note that a lot of the original file quality is lost due to resizing and recompression. Original photos are 10mp set at "Normal" quality in my Nikon(there is also "Fine" which is a bit better).

I'll post a couple of them here, I'll link you to the rest.

When you open up Source SDK you choose a version, right? 2006, 2007 or 2009
Im assuming you find Garrys mod in the 2007 direcory.
Select garrysmod, click edit configuration, then select GarrysMod again, and click edit, again, and copy the direcory. Then load up the 2009 version, click on create a new config, name it garrys mod and paste in the direcory.
Done. It should work now
The problem is that I don't launch Garry's Mod when I map for it.There isn't a default Gmod config in the sdk. I map for ep2 or hl2.
[EDIT] Nevermind, I'll map for ep2 in Source 2009, it works.
I do have a strange problem though. When I'm getting far from textured surfaces the texture is strangely deforming. It didn't do this until now :\.

Today I went back to hammer to continue my gm_abandoned-field(or possibly gm_nightfun), which is nearly complete ( I'd say 85%).

The problem is: I can't map anything.
  • I can't select anything in the 3D view
  • All I can see in the 2D views are props
  • There is no grid in the 2D views
Does anybody know a fix for this?

In about 2-3 years I will be living for some time in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It's a very old cultural city.

I actually live in a village "Suncuius" that has very low information on Wikipedia(not worth linking it). It's an intense touristic zone with very beautiful landscapes. We have here the longest cave in Romania( 52 km)- Wind's cave(there's a strong cold wind coming out of it). From what I know, it's possibly the 2nd longest cave in Europe, if not the 1st.
I have some videos on youtube that were school projects, videos with some landscapes from around here.
Enjoy:
1. Some landscape, ignore the text.
2. Teh' "big" Flood
3. French project about pollution. Start at 0:30. Ignore my french, just watch what tourists are doing... and some local people too. Filmed during early spring.
4.The Thunderstorm, with the thunder that scared the shit out of me. You probably watched this...

I'm actually love the landscapes in summer around here. Wait till' I get my Nikon, I'll spam video and photo content about the zone .

I think it has to deal with pixel aspect ratio, because if I turn my desktop res to 1280x720, it doesn't do that anymore.
But that's odd, it should work without doing that.

Your entry must NOT be in mod format. If you have custom content, the content should be zipped in the appropriate folder structure.
Oh and skals, you're probably writing better than you've expected if no red underlines appear to you :p.
I hope I won't be lazy and do all the hard work in the last week. I've got some pretty damn good ideas here. The problem is... it's easier to make them in hl1, but they would look better in source. And source is much better... oh well.
