I've got a Razor laser mouse and it's incredible. A bit on the pricey side ($70), but I got it for 20% off(56). I'd recommend them either way.

gl_max_size 1024 for sharper textures.
Also, not to rain on your parade or anything, but skinning Half Life is pretty common and most people would see showing off what skins you use as spam.

Ok, the current MOTM voting system is so primitive that it almost makes me cry. Its subject to peer pressure, off topic discussions, and never turns out more than a handful of votes because its not user friendly. So I propose a radically different system.

Create a new page dedicated to voting for MOTM. Inside this page are all the maps from the corresponding month(listed dynamically accoring to submission dates, of course). Each map listed can be linked to the matching map in the vault. Under each map lies a check box of which only one can be selected, and a "VOTE!" button at the bottom of the page. Once a vote is cast, a database logs the user who cast said vote so that if the user votes again, his vote is changed, not added.
Something like this:

There is no jump-to-page option in the map vault.

Not a bug, just an incredibly annoying nuisance.

It's all part of the AMXX plugin code. It doesn't create or use any map entities.
You'll need to look through the code to get the coordinates of the teleport.

in Hack Jobbing problems Post #245372
If the gun is a seperate body, import the gun into the arm's smd, delete the arms, and export the gun again. More than likely you moved a bone or several bones in one smd when you didn't mean to. And be sure to import the gun into the arms, not vice versa. If you want to know why, make a backup of your arms and try it.

Those arms look like the exoskeleton armor from STALKER. May I ask where you got them so that I too may begin some hackage of my own? I vaguely remember seeing them somewhere before.

Because it has bump mapping and specular support.
It looks more like STALKER to me, but it's pretty obvious that that's what they were going for.

Steam is already the way to go for online PC games these days anyway. Back then it sucked, now it's awesome.
Besides, even if this didn't exist, other, big companies keep brinig their products to Steam anyway. So it's growing either way.

Actually, in text, "brushes" don't exist. Just faces and vertex coordinates with a corresponding texture before the coordinates.

No, it is actually possible but it would be the equivalent of us trying to read "The Matrix" code.

in Screwed up textures - Why? Post #243999
This is what happened if you tried to map for any Orange Box game before the SDK came out. The checkerboard is the missing detail texture, which is layed over the diffuse texture. Hence, why you can see the computer screen.

Pretty much anything from any Silent Hill game is a good source for horror inspiration. They always nail suspenseful, moody environments.

Something that looks scary and pop out of corners, eg. mutants, are good for instant fright, but they don't last. Once you've seen one, their "scariness" begins to decrease exponentially with each encounter, so use "jumpers" in EXTREME moderation.
I've found that the best way to utilize a "jumper" is to build up a lot of suspense over it a few times without it actually happening. Then surprise the player by throwing something at them when they think they're safe. After that, they will never know when to expect anything and will get up tight over small things.

And just for the hell of it, you could check out my "Asylum" map for an old mini compo. http://twhl.co.za/mapvault_map.php?id=4564
