Yes, "prop" usually refers to a model-based element in a map, and I assumed that that's what you meant.
Take into consideration everything every one else has suggested, and hopefully your problem is one of them. :)

Well, for one, you're using the old quake tools. Get ZHLT from the links page on this site. Also, what entity are you using for the props?

You could always use the same basic premise, but not screw it up completely like they did :) Just use more combat, less Sound FX that drown out everything else, and Blue Shift arms.
The camera would be head mounted... Yeah... Head mounted.

Half-life: Uplink
Techinically a movie, right? It exeeded my expectations, even with the cheesy...everything... The actors seemed to be okay, but I couldn't hear most of the dialouge because of the background noise.

Don't get me wrong, it's still bad, just bad in a vaugely amusing manner. I'd recomend it for anyone who's interested in the behind-the-scenes stuff of the HL series, if only as a curiosity.

Bevel is from the ZHLT wad, it's like Null but it won't increase clipnodes, AFAIK.
It's mostly used for the inside/bottom of terrain and other places that the player won't ever see, so it has no clipping. I think.

Aside from special cases like maps where the sky is everywhere, boxes are bad. If you can make the sky brushes like walls and ceilings instead of boxes, do it.

Or move them to world, if it's not a "{" texture that has to be transparent.
And as above, make sure you use .lin, and look for the red. it can be confusing at times, but you'll find 'em. also, try to make your walls at least 6 units thick at all times, especially if a door or window is going to be there.

I also like the scripted sequences they've shown in the trailer.
The tentacle really astounded me, but that also might be because the first time I played through HL was the last time the scientist and the tenticle were in sync. :/
Perhaps it got bugged when I extracted it from the Pak.

Very Ironic.

It's a system that needs to be integrated into all the retail FPS games, though. Have 2 flex sets; one for facial animation, one for indivuallity. Simple, when you think about it.
