If you'd seen all of the media coverage you will understand that HL2's editor IS a new hammer. No-one has actually said that they are currently mapping for it, possibly using other 3D programs which may later enable them to convert their designs into HL2 format, whether or not this is true, I am pretty unsure, just merely speculating. :zonked:

We havent established that much yet, infact we are in need of recruitement before we can even do much more. It seems foolish to shun away the possibilities HL2 will bring to us.

Yeah. Most of them, like pepper, wanted to stick with HL1, although I have to say I still would like to see this pushed further to HL2.

gl_polyoffset 0.1

If this doesn't work, try -0.1, 1 or 20. This tells the driver how far to offset the decal from the surface of the polygon that the decal is being applied to.

Try this out, I had similar problems once.

Maybe, but it still creates an elitist division that may have devastating consequences for the whole TWHL forum system. Who would want to join a forum controlled by a flock of hawks?

Indeed. And I also would like to disagree with the appointing of so-called 'sub-mods'. There really only needs to be the group of moderators that there already are. Again, these sub-mods will use their position for their own advantage. In my oppinion, it will become a waste of time.

So you'd rather spend hours aligning textures? Well Hammer does that in less than a second. That is why mappers will use hammer. Among other improvements ofcourse.

The badge thing; This may lead to a very elitist attitude amongst TWHL members. I think its a great idea in a way, but some people may take advantage of the new system, acting like they own the place. It's just a thought, that's all.

hip-hop new Hammer for the young whippersnappers.
Actually, those who are the most experienced mappers tend to use VHE 3.5. Those who insist on using WC 2.2 and so fourth are usually the 'Young Whipper Snappers' who want to look like they are experienced mappers but actually are not.

As for textures, alot of the max payne textures are pretty decent. You can get a complete set of them down at the official action half-life website, as far as I know. I already have about 16 max payne textures, but I need better ones.

House Everyone doing?

Back now - Seen what you've been up to lately, and I am mighty impressed. I will be using some of the new textures, and hopefully be working on some new stuff with in the next few days and so.

Erm, also I've been playing they hunger and watching some zombie flicks for ideas. I also watched this film called 'The Hole', which gave me inspiration for some type of sealed-off nuclear bunker under a ruined corporate building. It'll be really dark and stuff, really f*cking eerie.
