I always assumed it was a bug valve accidentally coded in. I like it actually, it's like he digs into the corpse and then rips it up with the crowbar >:D
SoHL fixes it, however, I'm not sure if the latest WON patch does. I don't think so.

How about a grenade launcher for the MP7/SMG? Without it, you can't launch grenades, no matter how high level you are.

New HEV upgrades for speed, armor, and jumping.
Breen's Private reserve can be tossed, droped with E, or stowed in the inventory with the mouse drop.
Using it as an item has drinking for health, and throwing. Since it's an alternate universe, it's good for you. Includes hand model when in inventory.

And have some weapon functions start off disabled.
Like you either have no double barrel shot with the shotgun, or always use it. Then when you level up, you can use the other. Sometimes when I'm playing HL I'll use just the double barrel for a while, until "Gordon" "Learns" that not both barrels have to be fired at once.

Steam uses GCF files instead of Pak files. You'll have to use GCFscape to extract the files from there, I'm afraid. The same would go for Source games, exept hammer 4 can open GCF files and use the content from them.

I second the customizable freeman. Valve did the HEV colour in HLDM, so it's possible to do. If you get enough modelers, you could make a whole new world!
The accessories could be done with separate models put on attachements. And an inventory system. Give some of the items stats.
Trilby: adds 25% damage resistance to your HEV, as long as you have power.

Get a coder, make this an awsome mod with a dedicated comunity! I've wanted to make an FPS RPG with source for a while now, so maybe if I get highspeed I could help.

Try to get it on the CBC when you're finished. Maybe Rick Mercer or 22 Minutes would do a segment on it or something. It looks good, now get some textures. And make sure you add in some water/plant displacement underneath it. :)

I did'nt.
It's just a simple model hack from the model in Kol's valve intro map, put of the player bones. Once you get the hang of the tools, you can do pretty much any kind of hack, with some patience, but I have no idea how to make new meshes. :( It's also not perfect, the chest is a bit deformed.

Hey, don't give up.
I had to restart Colony 42 three times to get to the version I'm on. That includes story revisions and renaming in each new version too.
You just need to practice and keep at it. If you get bored, put it aside for a bit. But don't give up!
Take it aside for a while, revise the story and practice your skills. Trust me, I've been there, 5 failed mods, including the two older Colony 42 revisions. I'm still at it. :D

Maybe that could be fixed. Lemme check.
EDIT: Nope, I copied the ENIRE QC file from the model I got the animation sequence references from (AI's player source has no QC inside) And made the reference point to the Mrvalve reference and it still crashed.
Anyone know any good HL model compilers?
EDIT2: I renamed mrvalve.mdl in the QC to valveman.mdl, and it worked. Sort of.

EDIT3: Okay, it's at around 2X larger than the normal models.
I just need to find the exact scale down for normal size.

Just go into the Map Vault link on the left sidebar, you'll figure it out quickly. I did, and a bit too quickly... D:

Yeah, MS Picture manager is a good way to do so, and it comes with Windows!

EDIT: srry, you'd be suprised how readable things can be at the right angle. Colony 42 has tons of readable paper notes and letters.
