is entirely false. thats only if you have dsl or better. i have dial up and get 5k/s on downloads.I have dialup and get 30k-50k/sec. connections on Steam. That is screaming fast for a 56k connection.
One great thing bout steam: you need it to play NS3 which totally 0wnz over NS2.Yup! Ns3 r0x0rz! Although it is still in beta stage and it screws with my Gamma like UnrealEd does and makes everything bright.
Sure, only when I can find the plug for my scanner thoughJust don't use the wrong cables .
The server changes to your custom map, or a client connects while your map is on.
The server looks for a RES file that matches the name of the BSP.
The server loads the RES file and looks for images/sounds/stuff that need to be sent to clients.
If the client machine does not have the specified file(s) (or the file(s) are not the same date/size,) the server will send them to the client.
Once ALL files referenced in the RES file are downloaded by the client, the client connects and is able to play.
rabidmonkey, can you make texture all drawn by yourself.??I don't have a drawpad, so I just modify bits of my photos and royalty free reference images online and end up with bits of things like in my texture pack. Some of the textures are horribly useless to most mappers (Like teh eagle wall) but theyre in there just for the heck of it. Once I get my digicam working I can get some more uploaded.
That urban adventure site you posted is one that I havent seen, looks goodI have a giant bookmarks folder of most of the decent UE sites on the internet...if anyone's interested, I can make a thread on them.
