It's a really good 2 minutes though, considering it usually takes about 1 minute to make them.

I actually really like that drawing! I think it has a kind of cartoony look to it, yet at the same time, not too unrealistic. Just my uninformed opinion, though!

Why is it so important to put in origin brushes?

I might just make an example map on this. Now don't steal that idea!

in How many times have you played HL-SP? Post #165228
I really can't remember, for HL1... I finished it the whole way through only once, but I played it up to the Xen levels about 6 times, I'd say.

I was going to play it again really recently, but I ran into this error when I got to Power Up that prevented me from going any further, so I never finished it a second time.

I completed HL2 twice, but played a lot of little bits of it many times.

I don't think one is really funner to map for than the other, but I would have to say single player is more challenging.

In single-player, you have to worry more about the graphics too, since people tend to pay more attention to them when they don't have to worry about somebody shooting them in the back all the time.

Why not a 6800? They aren't really more expensive than the 6600GT. I got mine cheaper than that 6600GT on the list...

Still, I'd bet that if you dropped them, the LCD would come out less damaged than the CRT, just because of the sheer weight of the thing. There's got to be a video of that somewhere on the web, right?

"A new graphics card costs more than $200, if you want anything better than a Radeon 9800 Pro."

Not true, I bought an AGP nVidia GeForce 6800 for about $160, and that was like 6 months ago.

But what do all those other ZHLT lightflags do? Also, turning a brush based entity opaque doesn't exactly come out the same way a normal (non entity) brush would. The shadows seems to be sharper and darker.

Personally, I like how heavy my CRT is. And yes, you actually can be in situations where you need to look at the monitor from the side. What if you're standing next to somebody, looking at something on the monitor? Just like in the commercials :P

I don't understand why people buy LCD's, except for the looks. Unless you commonly attend LAN partys or something, why does it matter how bulky and heavy your monitor is? Besides, whenever I see them in peoples houses, they have them pulled forward so far on their desk, that it wouldn't take any less room than a CRT... but that could just be me.

ZHLT Lightflags are used to set lighting proporties for brush based entitys. I've never used the second one, but I think you might type in the name of another brush based entity and it'll light it the same way that it's lighted (I could be wrong though).

As for he 3rd one, I too have wondered about it.
This is just a guess, but maybe if you set the min light level to any number, say 50, it won't be lit any darker than that.
